Any help on finding links, tags, Categories, and stub links for ghosts and paranormal would be much appreciated. Is there a community within Wiki that has interests in Ghosts, Mysteries, Paranormal etc. Especially with RAF. --SteveKSmith (talk) 15:11, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Have you looked into Wikipedia:WikiProject Paranormal? --Stepheng3 (talk) 23:52, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

January 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Ghost stations do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Dekisugi (talk) 14:16, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Link[edit]

That is okay. It happened to me also when I was new here. Basically, Wikipedia should not be served as a catalogue or directory of external links. As Wikipedia is getting famous, people are using Wikipedia for promoting their sites through external links. For youtube, the problem is that copyright license in YouTube is unclear. You can read this guideline in WP:YOUTUBE. I hope you understand. So enjoy editing!! Dekisugi (talk) 14:32, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on The Authors’ Rights Awareness Campaign requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. • How is the best way to go about this? I've edited it again, but I really feel that The Authors’ Rights Awareness Campaign is worthy of being in the Wiki. I admit, I found it by researching an author who happens to write some books I'm really into. This is a bit of a project of mine. No Copyright violation was intended, but seeing as they have a campaign to "spread the word", I couldn't see the harm.--SteveKSmith (talk) 14:36, 19 January 2009 (UTC) NOTE: Omarcheeseboro replied on their Talk Page.[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:The Avro Vulcan Adventure.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:The Avro Vulcan Adventure.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:13, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RfD nomination of The Avro Vulcan Adventure[edit]

I have nominated The Avro Vulcan Adventure (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) for discussion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at the discussion page. Thank you. Ryan4314 (talk) 10:37, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies if I was brusque in my edit summary. The encyclopedia can't state the existence of the supernatural or one author's personal beliefs as hard fact, hence my adjustments. Cheers. - LuckyLouie (talk) 13:59, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For every category you create, you should specify parent categories to which it belongs. You can do this by listing the parents near the bottom of the page, each enclosed in double brackets like so:

[[Category:Works by author]]
[[Category:Hypothetical second category]]

I've added at least one parent to the category. I invite you to check my work for accuracy and completeness.

I am a human being, not a bot, so you can contact me if you have questions about this. Best regards, --Stepheng3 (talk) 21:39, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I just gotta ask, do you know Bruce Barrymore Halpenny, like are you his publicist or brother or something? Ryan4314 (talk) 23:14, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm glad you're excited about the possibilities of the Wikipedia's category system. Before you get carried away, make sure you read WP:OCAT. --Stepheng3 (talk) 20:53, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
