Windsor Park image[edit]

Hey, I've got a low resolution image of Windsor park, Riverside. Should i add it? Aaroncrick (talk) 10:46, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, it can't hurt at least it will do until someone takes a better pic? Stony (talk) 13:12, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll add it some time today. Aaroncrick (talk) 20:58, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I can't find the usb cable to connect my phone to the computer. I've also got some images of the NTCA ground on there. I'll add them as soon as i find the cable. Aaroncrick (Tassie Talk) 10:57, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Good work I hope that cable shows up. Stony ¿ 12:01, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Found it! I've also got an image of Devonport Oval and the Casino Aaroncrick(talk) 12:46, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent, they look great. Stony ¿ 13:15, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Do what you like, beware the images are only of a low quality. But better than nothing i suppose. Aaroncrick(Tassie talk) 13:22, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, they are Good enough for what i need.Stony ¿ 13:25, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's good, not many photos of the Launceston area are about. Oh well i'm off now. Aaroncrick(Tassie talk) 13:26, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's with free licenses. Aaroncrick(Tassie talk) 13:27, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yep I know what you mean, I browsed commons earlier and added some pics to wikimapia. Stony ¿ 13:37, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's good. If people aren't trying to make a buck out of their photos, I don't know why you wouldn't release the images under a free license? personal choice I suppose. By the way I'm familiar with Windsor Park but there aren't much info about it anywhere. Aaroncrick(Tassie talk) 23:11, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've just cleaned up the Launceston Football Club and Riverside Cricket Club (Tasmania) articles. Aaroncrick(Tassie talk) 01:48, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Launceston Weather[edit]

Yesterday was a record temperature for Launceston (Ti Tree Bend) of 36.9 and today that record was broken with the temperature getting to a least 38.2. I'll wait until tomorrow until updating the record temperature. Tomorrow is expected to reach 35. If it does get to that i wonder if it is the first time Launceston has had 3 days in a row over 35, let alone a month. Aaroncrick (Tassie Talk) 09:29, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yep I know that(wasn't it hot!!) the trouble is unless it's referenced it's no good and at the time the source is out of date, i'll wait myself to get the official update from here hopefully they update the other source as well.Stony ¿ 23:16, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's been updated now. Got to 39.0. Yeah it was very hot!! I've been to QLD when it was 36 a couple of years back and it felt no where near as warm as that! Felt like an oven outside. It's gone from being a cold month to a warmer than average one, and it's getting warm out there today. It's taking about 5 minutes to load some pages because all the internet downloads have been used for the month, grrr.. so it's taking a long time to do edits with refs. Aaroncrick (Tassie Talk) 01:04, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Lol I'm capped as well!, hurry up tomorrow. I was in Melbourne back in 1997 I think and on this particular day it got up to 42°C and i thought that was hot! but here yesterday that was something different.Stony ¿ 01:11, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Something about the Tassie sun? Imagine if we had all the pollution and skyscrapers to keep the heat in like Melbourne does. Had the Weather channel on in the background but all they seem to be concerned about is the temps in Adelaide and Melbourne, Tassie barely gets a mention. Aaroncrick (Tassie Talk) 01:26, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yep that is so typical, doesn't help that we are in a valley all the hot air just goes over the top, that's why Cressy and the airport are always 1-2°c warmer.Stony ¿ 01:37, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What a surprise, in the 2009 Southern Australia heat wave article there is no mention about Tasmania. Aaroncrick (Tassie Talk) 01:57, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah typical, if your going to add anything add Tas as a whole with mention of L'ton, scamander, flinders is. etc.
I'll probably add it after cricket tomorrow as there will hopefully be more internet articles to add as references and then the Tassie section won't get deleted. Aaroncrick (Tassie Talk) 02:11, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I got a reply from BOM; There are two sites at Launceston Airport. On Friday 30th the old one recorded 39.9 and the new reached 40.4. Launceston did reach a maximum of 39.0. Not the 38.7 or 38.8 that was used in the Examiner Article. Cheers Aaroncrick (Tassie Talk) 05:26, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I too e-mailed them and got the same response, it's a bit silly I think to have two stations by the same name and not ID which one is which.

Ivor Dean[edit]

Can't find it either, any more. Pity as it was quite colourful. No doubt a search of the Mercury around that date would find it, but I don't have that facility. So I've changed the source and text to a similar, but less colourful, article. --Michael Johnson (talk) 02:39, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you have any spare time after work or whenever could you please help me fix up the articles following GAN issues Talk:Launceston, Tasmania/GA1, cheers. Aaroncrick(Tassie talk) 10:46, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is no need to add tasmania and australia as categories in your sandbox - they are parent categories that are superfluous SatuSuro 09:01, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Stonyisalegend. I looked over the article again, and I think I'd rather you work on it in your userspace or off-wiki first, if you don't mind. Below is a copy of the deleted text:

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on List of places in Tasmania by population, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. AussieLegend (talk) 09:49, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion has begun about whether the article List of places in Tasmania by population, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of places in Tasmania by population until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. AussieLegend (talk) 03:52, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks![edit]

I didn't notice it, but your fix to the AFL16 template solved the whole problem. Ta! 124.181.73.144 (talk) 11:16, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
