Over the last few years, I have continued, on a sporadic basis to update the biographical page of James P. Johnson. The article that I found originally, was a stump, and the majority of the factual information, as well as opinion present in the article, as of 11/27/11 is my own contribution. This is based on approximately 35 years of ongoing research, discussion with many musicians,, scholars, and people who knew Johnson, his music, and his circle, and who have written about him and the stride genre. I am always happy to expand my knowledge base, by discussing the topic with others who have something significant to contribute, whether it be personal or academic experience. This is how we can best get it right, and honor the legacy of this great, under-appreciated man.

Whilst I do not, for one minute, doubt your expertise and very good intentions here, I must point out that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. As such, "other people have to be able to check that you didn't just make things up. This means that all quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source using an inline citation". Therefore, kindly read the verifiability, reliable sources, and neutral point of view guidelines before proceeding further. However well intended, personal experience, thoughts, and moreover strident opinions, have no place within a Wikipedia article. Please also note WP:Forum in this regard.
I apologise if such comments appear harsh and unforgiving. However you do need to know, sooner rather than later, what is expected of editors. Best regards,
