Choosing task categories[edit]
SuggestBot should only suggest articles that actually need help. To do this we have a set of "task categories" (e.g. "cleanup" or "stub") in SuggestBot's configuration. Each of those task categories corresponds to a specific set of Wikipedia categories. This configuration is unique for each Wikipedia we support. On the English Wikipedia we have eight categories in total and you can read more about them in the task category documentation.
I now need some help to decide these categories for Persian Wikipedia. Through the language links from English Wikipedia I have found some candidates. Note that grabbing articles from sub-categories is not a problem, either direct sub-categories or restricted by name (for instance our search for stubs on English Wikipedia is restricted to categories matching "stub" in their name).
I am looking for feedback on how to prioritise these, suggestions for other categories to add to these task categories, and suggestions for task categories that I am missing.

As mentioned, feel free to add suggestions of your own if there are some that I have missed. And again, feedback on which categories to keep and which to drop (for instance there might be a translation category but it has few articles and is well-maintained) is particularly helpful. - Yamaha5: thanks so much for your help with this! I have gathered articles from all the categories except cleanup and added the number of articles to the table. Of these categories we have so far, are there any I should drop? At the moment I have 10 categories with articles in them, we could use those and suggest 3 articles per category for a total of 30. That is about the same number of articles as on other wikis (here on English it's 30).
- The category you listed for cleanup has three sub-categories I will need to filter out (merge, style edits, and stubs), I will try to put together a regular expression to match them if we want to use that category too.
- Regarding your question about configuration: right now the configuration is not local to each wiki, but making that possible is a good idea! I will see if we can make that happen when we work on the code over the summer. In the meantime I will make sure I push our configuration file to our Bitbucket repository, it would then be possible to review it and suggest changes that way. other issue[edit]
fa:ویکی‌پدیا:پربیننده shows each topic based on number of view in a day. in my opinion bot should list the at the first.

- That is a nice setup of categories! I agree that using views when suggesting articles is useful, here on English we suggest articles using a big table (here is an example from our documentation). Having SuggestBot use those categories might be possible in the near future, in the meantime I could add viewership to suggested articles so users know more about them? We already do that for English Wikipedia, so it should be possible for Persian too! Cheers, Nettrom (talk) 23:08, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
