Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:NJSA.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Sultan ul Quam Nawab Jassa Singh Ahluwalia.jpg. The copy called Image:Sultan ul Quam Nawab Jassa Singh Ahluwalia.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 15:47, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Ahluwalia Gotras, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ~Matticus TC 12:41, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • You removed the {{fact}} tags from the lead of the article. Those sentences with the fact tag after them are lines with disputed content. There are no references given and there is no proof that any of them are true. Until you have references/citations for the same, kindly do not remove the fact tags.

License tagging for Image:Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia Felicitated 1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia Felicitated 1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:07, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Warning[edit]

This edit made through an anon IP reintroduced your contact details on the article.

Firstly, for privacy reasons this is not a good idea.

Secondly, considering safety and/or security you are creating a risk for yourself by connecting your email address and IP on an article which can be viewed by anyone.

Lastly, you've been requested earlier not to put these details on the article. Further re-addition to the article will be considered intentional vandalism, and you could be blocked for it.xC | 08:07, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Note[edit]

This edit

Yet again I am forced to remove titles from the list. The prefixes Mr, Mrs, Miss, etc are unneccessary and clutter the page. Also, please read the notability guidelines to identify whether all the people who you have added really deserve mention in an encyclopedia article or not.

Thanks,xC | 08:33, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "Category:Ahluwalia"[edit]

A page you created, Category:Ahluwalia, has been tagged for deletion in accordance with our deletion policy. In particular, it meets one or more criteria for speedy deletion; the relevant criterion is:

Author requests deletion, if requested in good faith, and provided the page's only substantial content was added by its author. If the author blanks the page, this can be taken as a deletion request.

As you created the page, and have removed all content from it, it is assumed that you wish for it to be deleted. If this is not the case, you should restore the previous content of the page

If you have any questions, please contact an administrator for assistance. Thank you CWii(Talk|Contribs) 17:41, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Shri Aditya Ahluwalia.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Shri Aditya Ahluwalia.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (T/C) 16:54, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:NJSA Samadhi.jpg missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:NJSA Samadhi.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 23:09, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

More information needed about File:Nawab Jassa Singh Ahluwalia (1718-1783).jpg[edit]

Hello, Sumit0014!

It was really helpful of you to you to upload File:Nawab Jassa Singh Ahluwalia (1718-1783).jpg. However, we need to properly format the image license information in order to keep and use new images.

If you can edit the description and add one of these templates, that would be great. If you're not sure how or would like some help, please ask us at the media copyright questions page and we'll be happy to assist you.

Thanks again! --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:05, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Shatrujit Singh has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Nothing in the article establishes notability of the subject. Its citations generally fail to support the content to which they are attached.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:Ahluwalia Quila.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
