Welcome![edit]

Hello, Sun God Jay, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

ENG 465 Check-In[edit]

This is Sam, the TA from ENG 465! Prof. Hanley asked me to help get in touch with everyone this weekend to make sure the Wiki assignments are moving along smoothly.

I looked over the two pages where you evaluated articles and I can see why you ultimately went with Eternity Road. It looks you were really thorough in looking over all the articles and were keen on spotting where improvements could be readily made. I was impressed with how easily you seemed to be able to navigate the Talk Pages too— personally, I find them a little confusing at times. I think you'll ultimately do great with this Wikipedia assignment!

I did notice you were a bit behind on the exercises and training modules, but only a little. You can catch up very quickly, so that's not really a concern.

As you get started moving your sources into your personal Bibliography page and maybe even the Talk Page for your chosen article (so other Wikipedians can potentially help you evaluate your sources and find new ones), I would offer some friendly advice about the quality of your sources... Amazon reviews, blog posts, and personal websites are not considered quality sources, unfortunately (I only learned this about Amazon reviews recently from this document on our WikiEdu page: Editing Wikipedia articles about Books.

However, I did a quick search on SFSU's library website, and I think you will be able to find enough quality sources for Eternity Road! It just might require a little bit more digging.

If you want help locating more sources, or anything else related to the Wikipedia project, feel free to respond to me here (I have my email notifications on) or message me on Tuesday! I'd be happy to work with you via email, Zoom, or right here :) --Sjnickerson (talk) 23:47, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jay,
Just giving you a heads up, I just provided you with a peer review (sorry about the mix-up and the long wait for it!) and Prof H's "green light" to move your work from the "sandbox" to the live Wikipedia article. Just leaving you a message here to make sure you get the notification!
As I mentioned in those two places as well, let me know if you need any assistance! --Sjnickerson (talk) 06:39, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
