The article Malik safdar ali awan has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. A tag has been placed on Malik safdar ali awan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Malik safdar ali awan do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.

This is your last warning. The next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did at Malik safdar ali awan, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Millahnna (talk) 21:47, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Malik safdar ali awan. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.

Please listen[edit]

Okay, you've gotten a lot of generic, templated messages above. Let me try to give you a personal explanation of what's been going on. First, you tried several times to have your article created via Articles for creation, and each time you were turned down. It's a little disappointing that, after that, you went ahead and made the article anyway once you became a confirmed editor. But anyway, you did create the article, and it was soon nominated for speedy deletion. As an admin, I have declined that speedy deletion, because I think that the article makes a "claim of significance or importance," which is all an article about a person has to do to survive speedy deletion. However, I do not believe that the article meets our notability guidelines for people, so I have instead switched the article to what is called a "Prod". The Prod lasts 7 days; at any time in that seven days, you or anyone else may remove the prod if you think the article does meet the guidelines. Of course, if that is done without actually improving the article, then I'll take it to a Articles for Deletion discussion; in that case, the community will be asked to give input as to whether or not the subject is notable enough, and that decision will be (basically) final.

So, if you want the article to be kept, you need to add more references. However, that brings us to the issue of Youtube and the message you left on User:Katarighe's talk page. You asked how you can add in information that you know personally. The answer is that you cannot. Wikipedia requires that all information come from reliable sources--that means newspapers, academic journals, reputable books, etc. Youtube videos, your personal knowledge, and blogs or other self-published websites do not count as reliable. If there are no more reliable sources that have discussed Awan in detail, then it is likely that xe cannot have an article in Wikipedia. Additionally, please do not add links to Youtube. In general, youtube is not a reliable source, with very small exceptions for "official" channels of news stations or other similar sources; any other youtube link will generally be deleted automatically (we even have an automated bot that does it for us).

If you have any questions about these processes or Wikipedia in general, please come to my talk page and ask--I am glad to help. Qwyrxian (talk) 23:02, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New references[edit]

Do the new references you added actualy talk about Malik Safdar Ali Awan? Or are they talking in general about Islam, the Awan clan, etc.? Qwyrxian (talk) 06:08, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
