A welcome from Sango123[edit]

Hello, Surrealplaces, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We're glad to have you in our community! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful.

Happy editing!

Defend the Chinook[edit]

Just thought you should know that your spectacular chinook photos (as well as the one that I took) are being repeatedly removed by someone who feels only their photo belongs in the article. I keep restoring our photos.

Image copyright problem with Image:Nose-hill-view.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Nose-hill-view.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 15:11, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Bragg-creek-map.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Bragg-creek-map.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:39, 28 August 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:39, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

It appears this account has been compromised, and is now being used to spam an external link. I've no choice but to block indefinitely. --Floquenbeam (talk) 02:48, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I received your email. The reason I thought it was compromised is because after four years of intermittent helpful editing, there was a 14 month gap, followed by the addition of the same external link to more than 60 articles in the space of an hour and a half, and ignoring a warning that it was inappropriate. This is a rather classic sign of someone taking over a legitimate account and using it to spam their site to as many places as possible, hoping that it will stick on at least some of them.

There is no way for me to confirm or deny that you are the same person. If you aren't, then an indef block is reasonable. If you are, then a final warning before the block would have been justified. Since I can't know, I will assume you are the same person, and unblock the account.

However, you need to stop adding the link to any Wikipedia pages anymore; we have policies on this, at WP:External links and WP:Spam. Furthermore, you said in your email that you are the site's owner, so you should also review WP:Conflict of interest. Even if you aren't gaining financial benefit from increasing traffic, adding links like this is still not allowed. If you strongly feel it is appropriate for the one article Liev Schreiber, then bring the issue up on that article's talk page, and editors without a conflict of interest can judge whether it is a good addition or not.

Please ask if you have any questions. You're now unblocked. --Floquenbeam (talk) 14:57, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:Calgary Eaton Centre.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 14:53, 9 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Another one of your uploads, File:Chinook-arch-01.jpg, has also had some information automatically added. If you get a moment, please review the bot's contributions there as well. Thanks! Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 14:24, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Dragon City Mall has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

NN mall.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
