January 2016[edit]

Information icon Your recent edit to List of classical pianists appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person or organization added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Yes, Susan Merdinger does meet the criteria of notable. I am trying to create an article for Susan Merdinger. After saving it as a draft, it seems to have vanished. Can you help?

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, SusanGreene. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID). Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 18:14, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Susan Merdinger, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 07:17, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

January 2018[edit]

COI is acknowledged. My sincere apologies. I am simply trying to protect the integrity and reputation of the subject of this article. At one time I did attempt to create an article about the subject, but was not successful and basically decided against it. Then this article was created- but it was not by me nor paid for by me or article's subject. Therefore no additional changes, supportive measures or references will be added to this article by me to either support or negate any allegations/citations or "management templates"- being inserted by you or other Wikipedia editors and I will certainly refrain from adding/correcting any new pertinent information about the subject. Aside from the fact that I am not an experienced Wiki Editor like yourself, I do not have any interest in causing conflict.

If you feel the subject of this article is not properly documented- feel free to edit and add properly formatted references and documentation about the subject. It's all available publicly on other internet sites- articles, reviews, pages on notable organizational websites, references, professional photographs with credits, professional website with links to the aforementioned sources, etc. Ex. https://susanmerdingerpianist.com/press. If, on the other hand, you strongly feel the subject of this article, Susan Merdinger, is not notable in any way, please feel free to delete the article altogether, thereby removing a stub and repeated "management templates" that have been added and removed since this article's creation. It appears that nobody else is stepping up to the plate to make the necessary corrections and clarifications and anything I might do is deemed a COI, regardless of the factual content and neutrality. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/If_a_tree_falls_in_a_forest Thank you for your interest and support. I support the integrity and value of Wikipedia, too, and do not wish to violate any rules or code of ethics. SusanGreene (talk) 20:51, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia has essentially no interest in anything said or published by Susan Merdinger. It is only interested in what people who have no connection with her have chosen to publish about her, you are free to suggest any changes together with supporting sources on the article's talk page. Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Talk:Susan Merdinger, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 22:24, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Understood. I have followed your recommendation and left a request on the Article's Talk Page. I hope it will eventually be taken care of by some Wikipedian unknown and unrelated to me or the subject, or else deleted. Thank you for your clarification of the appropriate procedures. As i mentioned before, I have little to no experience as a Wikipedia Editor. Perhaps sometime in the future. Thanks. Let's see what happens. SusanGreene (talk) 22:34, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
