Citations needed tag

On Neighborhoods of Minneapolis, you tagged one section with needing citations. Then you tagged the whole article. I removed it from the whole article at the top (which was also placed in the wrong location). Please decide which area would be tagged as needing more reference before being redundant with the usage. Thanks,  oncamera  (talk page) 15:32, 8 February 2023 (UTC)

Temu flag fixes

Hi, There is a flag on the article for Temu (company), the most downloaded iPhone app in the United States the last few months. [1] I work there so I have a COI. I have posted Talk:Temu (company)#Request for more clean up and removing flag to deal with the last few issues in cleaning this article up so the flag can be removed. Since you are a member of the WikiProject for Internet, I thought you might possibly be interested in the topic. Thanks in advance for your consideration! A barnstar for you!

The Barnstar of Diligence
I wish Minneapolis could hold a special celebration for the woman that cared so much about her city that she worked for hundreds of hours to present a Wikipedia article that will be the best of the best! Sectionworker (talk) 16:52, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
Heavens. Thank you, Sectionworker! KUTGW. -SusanLesch (talk) 16:55, 11 February 2023 (UTC)

Minneapolis

Dear Susan Lesch,

I am hoping you are doing fine. I have come across the train-wreck that is happening between you and another editor at Minneapolis over a lovely award-winning indigenous restaurant. Such a shame that this is happening to you, someone who seems to have been the trusty caretaker of this article for more time than one can count.

I couldn't help but notice your edit summary on 21:47, 9 February 2023. I used to be a moderately involved editor a while back and have returned (with a new account due to password loss) within the past month after a long hiatus. I am writing to send you my offer of help in editing the Minneapolis article. You have been going through it on your own and I would be happy to aid you. Please let me know if I can ever be of assistance.

Regards, 7milestoHope (talk) 16:56, 11 February 2023 (UTC)

By all means, help in any way you can. The talk page has a long list of benchmarks to meet as well as links to old To Do lists. You'll find something there. Thanks for your note. -SusanLesch (talk) 17:14, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
Dear Susan,
I will be sure to venture over to the talk page to see the outstanding edit requests when I am able to do so. From now on, whenever the need arises, please be sure to ping me and I will come to assist in whatever way. I look forward to working together on the Minneapolis article, Susan.
Kindly, 7milestoHope (talk) 18:54, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
Well you done good and then I came in and wrecked that, deleting the whole table per talk. I'm sorry. Here's my guess. Did your first username start with a C? -SusanLesch (talk) 23:30, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
Dear Susan,
No worries about the table. It is my fault for not seeing the deletion request in the talk page before collecting all the sourcing! Unfortunately, my old username did not start with the letter “C” but rather it was a “J”. Before my recent return, we did not have privilege of interacting much at all. Back when I was active although, as a native to this area I followed the Minneapolis page and became familiar with your work. Looks like the To Do List and the FAR List are now almost dry, any editing tasks you have on the horizon?
Kindly, 7milestoHope (talk) 23:51, 12 February 2023 (UTC)

New account

Dear Susan,

It is the user who has been assisting with the Minneapolis article. I was advised to create a new account associated with my former one (from a while back that I lost my password to) in order to avoid any confusion. I will be no longer using the other account, per recommendation and will communicating here on this new account clearly showing my connection to my former one.

Let me know that you have received this message and I look forward to continuing working together.

Kindly,~~ FormerlyJace1 (talk) 00:05, 22 February 2023 (UTC)

I can find a talk page for Jace1. Maybe you could link your user page to it: User talk:Jace1. -SusanLesch (talk) 00:11, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
Susan, that is the one! I did link the old talk page. Great idea. Anything I can help with while I am logged on now?
Kindly, FormerlyJace1 (talk) 00:22, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
Just the same as before. -SusanLesch (talk) 00:29, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
Susan, certainly. Will see what I can do for now. Kindly, FormerlyJace1 (talk) 00:34, 22 February 2023 (UTC)

Spaces in section headers

Hi. Good catch on date vs. year. Date is preferred. You are correct. However, on spaces in section headers it is an accessibility aid for people trying to copy the text from headers. Much easier with spaces. No need to remove them. It is also a parsing thing. Carry on. Cheers! {{u|WikiWikiWayne}} {Talk} 11:30, 11 February 2023 (UTC)

WikiWikiWayne, where is your reading of the spaces in a guideline or written advisory? I have used the old pattern for fifteen years as a search aid. -SusanLesch (talk) 17:16, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
Hi, Susan. I learned it from some WMF folks, and from some users with various challenges and abilities. ===They prefer=== | === this === | ===to this===. I can find a lot of examples that show or mention a leading and trailing space, as shown here: [ Help:Wikitext#Section headings ]. PS: I changed a unit for lumber footage on the big article. Please confirm the base number. Normally, lumber is unitized by volume, not by length. Cheers! {{u|WikiWikiWayne}} {Talk} 03:36, 23 February 2023 (UTC)

Lead Question

Thank you, Susan, for clarifying the poorly worded sentence in the opening paragraph of the lead a few days ago. It was helpful in making that sentence easier to read.

I do have a few questions though. I was going to post this in the article talk, but I am not auto confirmed yet.

Mainly, I am unsure why we talk about milling and finances in the opening part. Sure, the milling industry made both an architectural and industrial impact on the city, but it is not the most defining factor to 21st century Minneapolitans. Also, per “financial clout”, Minneapolis currently ranks in the top 20 American cities in terms of economic output. It is definitely, according to multiple RS, the largest economic center in the Northern Great Plains and Upper Midwest. However, “financial clout” seems unwarranted since it is nationally not on the same level as multiple other cities (i.e. Boston and Chicago). Should we mention it is the largest economic/cultural center in the region(s) I listed above instead?

Overall, I feel like this lead has been sadly mutilated by the Sockpuppet farm you seem to have dealt with last year. In several ways, it is lacking a very “Minneapolis” feel which makes it fall short in giving readers an overview of the city. I think Boston, which is is FA, does a great job. Any ideas how to fix this?

Feel free to share my thoughts with others.

Always grateful. Your friend, FormerlyJace1 (talk) 16:15, 23 February 2023 (UTC)

Please conduct Minneapolis discussions on the Talk:Minneapolis page. I will not respond here. -SusanLesch (talk) 16:47, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
Susan, as I said in my note, I am unable to edit the talk page due to not being autoconfirmed yet. If you would transfer my work, that would be appreciated. Kindly, FormerlyJace1 (talk) 16:57, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
Let me know if you can do this. If not, I will patiently a few more days until I have that access. Much appreciated, FormerlyJace1 (talk) 20:55, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
No I cannot. -SusanLesch (talk) 21:17, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
