Orphaned non-free image (Image:Phishing Internet Explorer Warning.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Phishing Internet Explorer Warning.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:15, 4 July 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Fake "You have new messages" banner on your page[edit]

Hi Symode09, I have no idea if this has been raised with you previously but I have to say that I find these fake message bars really annoying. I know they're only meant as a joke and are in a sense harmless, but in case you are unaware, many other people also find them annoying - probably more of them than the type who enjoy them. Spoofing the MediaWiki interface is generally frowned upon, and should be avoided. And at the end of the day they add nothing to the encyclopaedia. —Moondyne 14:42, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just something to also consider each page that loads the data transmitted is counted by some ISP's into a users overall down load limits and that such bars are not only annoying but they can also incur an actual cost. With my upgrade in service and change of ISP I now have such limits, while it doesnt physically cost once I've exceeded those limits my service can be reduced in data transfer rates down to as low as 56k. These are even more annoying now that not so many people have them.--P4k 10:07, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Tagging is evil, by DerHexer (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Wikipedia:Tagging is evil provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Wikipedia:Tagging is evil, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 21:00, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Andrewhansen.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Andrewhansen.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Deskana (talk) 02:17, 19 July 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Admin coaching[edit]

I noticed you signed up for a coach (if you already have one, please let me know). I'm available (you'll be getting a whole team of coaches if you choose me, as I don't work alone - it's more fun this way). I do have a few conditions though, and they are that you...

  1. don't go for your RfA or accept an RfA nomination until I think you are ready. My co-coaches and I generally co-nominate our students when the time seems right.
  2. take the advice provided by your various co-coaches and your fellow students to heart (this will be a group effort).
  3. get involved with the other students' training. We all have valuable experience worth sharing, so don't be shy. Even the coaches have training pages in this project, so don't hesitate to share your expertise with us too!

Please let me know if you agree, and we can get started.

Hey The Transhumanist! yes, I would love you to begin coaching me. Thanks, Talk to symode09's or How's my driving? 00:02, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, meet me at the Virtual classroom. I've created a coaching page for you there, and have added the VC template above. There are some general assignments on the main VC page, which you should work on at least a little each time you are logged on to Wikipedia. See you there!
