kikuyu article[edit]

Did you even look at the changes I made to that article before reverting them? If so please show me a neutral, reliable source proving that the backyard photos of Lee Harvey Oswald are forgeries to the extent that such claims can be presented as undisputed fact. And tell me why discredited conspiracy theorist Robert Groden is suddenly a rock solid, unchallenged, reliable source. If you cannot do so, at least take this issue to the noticeboard. Ok, so in other words, if I add false information to any article and provide Bugs Bunny as a reference it can never be removed without a discussion and a consensus. I see, as a person who rarely edits Wikipedia it is apparently up to me to take the appropriate steps to improve the article, even though I am not familiar with the process. I can sympathize with your problems (somebody that doesn't know a thing about the subject strips out your edits just because it may be worded badly instead of correcting the wording). the latest thing it seems for folks to do is to undo edits instead of checking the validity of those edits. Change/edit to Maryland Symphony Orchestra[edit]

I am the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and recently went in to edit the MSO page (which we did not originate, we have no idea who put the information on the page). Received a message back that our changes/edits, etc. were not as good as the previous text and you changed the changes back to the original. That page was full of inaccurate information that must have been received from an old website. Stradivarius instruments list[edit]

I don't know how to edit it with addition of references or citations. This is well-known case of one of many items stolen from Poland during World War II, and it has been described in so many Polish books and articles - because even though it was stolen, everyone knew who took it and where it is being held... It is basically a common knowledge for those interested in this subject. In short: the "Polish King" Stradivarius is (was? since it is still being held in Russia) one of the most famous Stradivarius in Poland, because it was ordered by polish king August II himself and mainly because it was kept in immaculate condition in the collection of Oginski family (one of the wealthiest Polish estates) for few hundred years, until the moment of so-called "liberation" of Poland by Soviets in 1945, when it was just taken by Red Army officers and never returned (altogether with many other items). Later on it was used by famous Russian violinist Igor Oistrakh for many years. do you live near the ledges close enough to check out the edits you have been reverting? If it doesn't fit your version of proper english then please edit it, that's what wiki is for. Those of us near the ledges know that there are certain items that draw people to the ledges and they are the icebox, the falls all over (especially in the wintertime when they ice over)and the trails. the amount of water falling the largest falls is probably about the volume of a fire hose max and that's just after a heavy rain. 24.29.193.138 (talk) 04:19, 16 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

ETA article[edit]

Hello,

I appreciate that my amendments didn't include citations but I have a busy life and don't have time to add them at the moment and learn how to insert the links correctly, etc. nothing I said was particularly controversial and all the info is easily searchable in Spanish or Basque, less so in English but not impossible. In the meantime the article is massively out of date and out of step with current events, even my additions left out a huge amount that has happened.

Personally I think it would be better to insert the (quote?) or (citation?) links giving myself or someone else a chance to add this when possible, and highlighting to anyone else that they shouldn't simply trust what is being said without further research.

In any case I don't have time to correct this properly any time soon so I guess the article will remain out of date.

Formating of cite template parameters[edit]

Hi, Technopat. I tweaked the change you made with this edit to The Great Gatsby. Generally speaking, adding formatting to cite template parameters should be avoided. [There are of course exceptions to the general rule, most commonly perhaps when a title is partly in italics.] The purpose of the cite templates is to do the formatting for you so the formatting is consistent throughout Wikipedia. Manually overriding the formatting sort of defeats this. Usually the only time it is necessary is when the formating of part of the parameter's value is different than the rest. In this case, the formatting of the whole parameter was the same. I changed the parameter used from "publisher" to "work", which achieves the same italic effect you were after. I have to admit that the definition of purpose of those parameters is quite vague and I often don't even know which is appropriate. and I was trying to see if it could be linked at the bottom of the Jon Anderson page. Its pretty appropriate and I think people would find it useful & informative. (There's also interviews with Steve Howe, Bill Bruford and other prog-rock pioneers at that page too.) BUT it seems like that page is blocked by some kind of spam firewall or wikipedia black-list. Can you help? Maybe at least get that page off of the wikipedia black list? That would help! I know te guy who does these interviews and there's no reason it should be on a spam list, they never spam and he's not even working for a vreal radio station anymore. These archive are for educational and informative purposes anyway.

I've heard alot about people getting spam-blacklisted on wiki who aren't spammers at all. I think this is one of those cases.
