A tag has been placed on Alpha Zeta Chapter of Beta Theta Pi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Individual Chapters of Greek Letter Organizations...[edit]

Hello, my name is Randolph Finder and I'm a member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Fraternities and Sororities. In general individual chapters of Greek Letter Fraternities aren't considered notable enough to have their own article. Zeta Phi chapter of Beta Theta Pi is a relatively unusual exception, but that is also related to the fact that it was sort of the start of its own regional fraternity before joining.

It can be difficult editing for your own fraternity without running into Conflicts of Interest (see WP:COI) but with members of at least a few different GLOs at Wikipedia:WikiProject Fraternities and Sororities we tend to check each other for being overly exuberant about our own groups. Beta Theta Pi has a pretty good "members of" page and a decent "chapters of" page (For that, a header saying how chapters are made and whether there is still a method of determining the order of new chapter names would help a *lot*). The pages for the founders are also very good. The only type of page that I've seen that Beta Theta Pi doesn't have is a "National Conventions of". There is also a "Citation needed" note for a fact on the Beta Theta Pi page, maybe you can find a source for that. Just some random ideas off the top of my head.Naraht (talk) 14:12, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
