The Dial Press[edit]

I have just removed the redirect so there's a page called The Dial Press which you can start editing whenever you like! Welcome! Stumps (talk) 05:14, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Kathleen Foster Campbell[edit]

A tag has been placed on Kathleen Foster Campbell requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 05:39, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Poetry club article[edit]

Hi! Went and fixed it for you. There are instructions on the article's talk page. The original title remains as a redirect while the new title is University of Chicago Poetry Club. Have fun! --PMDrive1061 (talk) 16:38, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kathleen Foster Campbell[edit]

I have recreated the article Kathleen Foster Campbell - if we can add some more details to the article (without duplicating information in the article on the club) - then it would help prevent our zealous administrators from deleting it (there is - by the way - a procedure by which you could have prevented the speedy deletion ... see the pages listed unde [Category:Speedy deletion]] for the full and somewhat daunting picture). Possible copyright violation[edit]

I have deleted the content of Llewellyn Jones and rewritten a short biography. The reason is that it seems that the text was taken from without permission from another website. Apologies if I am mistaken, otherwise it might be worth reading WP:COPYVIO. I am very pleased to see the good work you are doing in the encyclopedia, and I hope these few 'teething problems' do not discourage you. Stumps (talk) 04:25, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suspected the text may indeed have been your own - nevertheless it is unclear what the copyright status of the original text is - possibly it belongs to the library?? I think the page I saw had the text "Copyright © 2007 by the Yale University Library." on it .... pretty definitive. Anyhow, material on Wikipedia is published under the GNU Free Documentation License which means that the library could seen to be violating the terms of Wikipedia's licence by not satisfying the condition "provided that this License, the copyright notices, and the license notice saying this License applies to the Document are reproduced" ... so in short, I think the best approach is always to completely rewrite your own text if it has been published elsewhere ... this is not such a bad idea anyway, as the highly 'distributed' nature of the wiki environment means often enough that a lot of background information which would normally appear in the text (in this case, for example, the list of other members of the club) is better located in a separate dedicated article (in this case the article on the poetry club). Maurice Lesemann[edit]

I've also created a short article on Maurice Lesemann - perhaps you can add something to this? Stumps (talk) 04:32, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Homemovieday.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Hmd.jpg. The copy called Image:Hmd.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account.
