November 2019[edit]

Information icon Hello, TerryKumar. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Grob Aircraft, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Ahunt (talk) 14:04, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your attempts to sanitize this article and remove critical history that is cited to reliable references, while introducing marketing language and promotional material indicates that you very likely work for the company that is the subject of the article. You need to read WP:COI and abide by the wording there, stop editing the article and instead suggest changes on the article talk page for neutral editors to consider whether to make or not. In the meantime your attempts to sanitize this article will continue to be treated as WP:VANDALISM and will be reverted. Eventually your account will be blocked and you will be unable continue editing. - Ahunt (talk) 14:19, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ahunt, I appreciate your commitment to the integrity of Wikipedia. I am merely trying to update the page as it is outdated as it currently stands. I plan on referencing all changes, if you'd just let me finish without constantly reverting everything. The history is extremely important and I am not trying to delete it, just organize it. You would see this if I am allowed to finish. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TerryKumar (talkcontribs)
Just to note, I haven't reverted any of your changes, yet. That was other editors.
We see a lot of this sort of thing here on Wikipedia. Your edits make it look exactly like you are working for the company PR department, as you have been trying to remove negative information about the company, like any mention of the 2008 bankruptcy, including quotes from the CEO about it and replacing it with "marketing speak" like "Grob Aircraft is best known for high performance military trainers, which are in service with Air Forces across the world." We don't allow this sort of editing here and classify it as "conflict of interest vandalism". You need to make a declaration about your connection to the company, stop editing the article and request changes on the article talk page for assessment by neutral editors. If you keep trying to sanitize the article you will get blocked.
It is worth noting that because we see these sorts of company PR efforts often here on Wikipedia, they do get reported in the aviation or general press on occasion and then the report on the PR efforts to clean the article gets added to the Wikipedia article, using the press reports as references. This undoubtedly results in great embarrassment to the company, as it reflects poorly on their ethics. It is far better to comply with WP:COI, declare your conflict of interest, stop editing the article and request changes on the talk page instead. - Ahunt (talk) 15:04, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ahunt, I am new to this so I apologize for the confusion on my part. I will stick to only adding information from the company website, or that has been duly referenced from news sources. I appreciate you ensuring the integrity of this page, and do not plan on removing critical history! — Preceding unsigned comment added by TerryKumar (talkcontribs)

I think you aren't reading what I wrote. Since you are in a conflict of interest and keep just adding marketing language to the article, you need to stop editing the article all together and just make suggestions for changes on the talk page. - Ahunt (talk) 15:31, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
