Greek ZUBRs[edit]

Hi there! The piece of news that Greece sold its four ZUBR hovercrafts to China is complete fabrication. There exists nothing on it on the Greek media, and as the ZUBR are an important (if troubled) part of rapid reaction capability they are not going to be sold off just like that anytime soon. The source itself evidently is faked, as it quotes someone with the completely unlikely name of "Kleftos Priapos", a made-up bullshit name if there ever was one. Genuine mistake. I'll reverse my edits unless you've done so already. TheArmchairSoldier (talk) 15:11, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and made the correction. It's easy to make the mistake, I was myself surprised to see how far this piece of misinformation had spread on the web. According to some Greek sites where this is discussed, it started back in April from a Pakistani website, and has since gained a life of its own. It also shows how much Classical education has been abandoned, since no-one recognized a made-up name involving a rather well-known mythological figure. Just to kindly correct[edit]

SPEAR 3 is not Brimstone. SPEAR 3 is a separate missile from Brimstone and Brimstone 2 (this being SPEAR 2).

SPEAR 2 evidence:

https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/mbda-reveals-brimstone-2-missile-work-for-uk-369437/

SPEAR 3:

http://www.janes360.com/images/assets/853/47853/the_UK_s_SPEAR_Cap_3_air-to-surface_weapon.pdf

So that evidence doesn't show Brimstone will be cleared for the F-35/F-35B. It shows SPEAR 3 not SPEAR 2 will be integrated on the F-35B, and again SPEAR 3 is not Brimstone.Thanks.Cantab1985 (talk) 11:16, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Improving the General Dynamics Wikipedia article[edit]

Hi @TheArmchairSoldier: I noticed you contribute to the General Dynamics UK Wikipedia article. On the General Dynamics Wikipedia article, there is room for improvement on a few sections. I have a COI with General Dynamics, so I will not edit the article myself but will present conceptual improvements on the talk page. To start, I rewrote the lead paragraph to clarify what the company does. Here is my proposed version. Any thoughts on this? --Chefmikesf (talk) 21:08, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
