While I have enjoyed reading Yakeen (1969 film), WP is not a live journal or an opinion piece - so please do not give your opinions. You may be interested in joining the Indian cinema project we have on Wikipedia. Welcome!! --Gurubrahma 14:36, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, but I was not the person who wrote that article. Another member had written that article and placed it mistakenly in the Yakeen (2005 film) page, so I merely created the Yakeen (1969 film) page and placed his text there. Since I have not seen the Yakeen (1969 film), I didn't feel I could edit his words. --Annie D 23:20, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Since the typo actually occured it is generally considered not unreasonable to leave the redirect since it makes it (empirically) a likely typo. If however, you insist I will delete the redirect as having only you as the author. JoshuaZ 05:34, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mary Poppins (musical)[edit]

Hi. To weigh in on a question that you asked a while ago on one of the musical theatre talk pages, I think that in the article you should briefly summarize the main differences between the musical and the film, rather than creating a separate article on the subject. Best regards, -- Ssilvers 06:09, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. -- Annie D 06:36, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mary Poppins (main article)[edit]

I love what you're doing with this article - it needed it, badly. One minor thing - look at the Mr. Banks section you just added to. One of the sentences seems to start over halfway through (in the books/in the movie).

Keep up the good work! Karen | Talk | contribs 01:35, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Masters of the Universe WikiProject[edit]

Hey there, you recently suggested splitting the She-Ra article into two separate articles dealing with the seris and the character. I would like to draw your attention to this proposal. I have proposed a WikiProject dealing with the various aspects of the Masters of the Universe franchise. From you recent edits and of course your username, this may be something you would be interested in supporting. Thanks you for your time.--NeilEvans 22:22, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Changing categories[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you created Category:People from Kuala Lumpur to replace Category:People from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. If you find a similar situation, please add {{categoryredirect|new category}} on the old category page - that should help editors to avoid adding articles to it. Better still, propose a change at WP:CFD, although that can be a bit complicated to get the hang of! By all means leave me a note if you would ever like advice on categories. - Fayenatic (talk) 17:10, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Watership Down plot summary[edit]

Thank you for jumping in on completing the plot summary for Watership Down. I was trying to find time for it myself, without much success. Your description is extensive and will make it easier to condense it further to meet novel plot summary guidelines. It needs to be a relatively brief treatment that, "should summarise the work, touching on plot, important events, character developments . . . ", and not include every twist and turn in the plot. Take a look at Of Mice and Men for an example. I'd be glad to take a shot at streamlining what you put in, or do you want to?
Jim Dunning | talk 22:57, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No no, please go ahead. I think it's best if different people work together to get a plot summary to look good, because then it doesn't reflect the thoughts of only one (or a few) people. I'm just happy to provide a starting point. Annie D (talk) 00:22, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tin Man plot summary[edit]

Thanks also for the rewrite and condensation of the plot summary for Tin Man. You seem to really have a knack for this! I was going to do it, but never got around to it - the best I could do was to bring some material over from Azkadellia. I'll try to refine it further if time permits in the next few weeks. Thanks again! - Banazir (talk) 03:57, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! Also, holy moly, I didn't realise that the individual characters were given pages as well. As much as I enjoyed the show, the characters are not notable enough for their own pages (though over time that might change, who knows). Those are going to get tagged for merger/deletion soon. Annie D (talk) 04:12, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Generally speaking, no, individual characters weren't given pages, and I agree that the re-imaginings are not that notable in their own right. I simply put notes on the Mystic Man into the "modern adaptations" section of Wizard of Oz; similarly for Glitch and the Scarecrow, Wyatt Cain and the Tin Woodman, and DG (who is both a descendant and analogue of Dorothy Gale). Azkadellia is the only exception. I created a page for her because not only is she a new Oz character and not a pure derivative of the Wicked Witch - her character design (external to the story) is identified by the production designer (Michael Joy), actors (Kathleeen Robertson, Neal McDonough, etc.), and writers as being the main inspiration for the scenic design of the whole series. The AfD discussion gives more details of my rationale. - Banazir (talk) 06:11, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Responded [1].

Quick request[edit]

In the future, if you could use {{Film}} instead of {{FilmsWikiProject}}, I'd be very grateful. Although the latter one automatically redirects to the former, it has been deprecated, and we're trying to phase out its usage as task force tagging slowly occurs over the next year or so. Knowing that it's not being added to new articles would put me greatly at ease. Thanks! Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 08:44, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We Will Rock You; Article assessment[edit]

Nice work on the article. A few suggestions: You need to expand the intro section per WP:LEAD to act as a brief overview of the rest of the article. Also, the article is very under-referenced. If you added some more references and filled out the intro, I would be happy to promote the article to B-class. Let me know when this is done. I streamlined your character descriptions, removing some details that belong in a plot summary but not in the character descriptions (which are still too long). Even though you have a separate article on Cast lists, you should add the most notable cast member/director/choregorapher info to the productions section. Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:01, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback, this is most helpful. :) Annie D (talk) 00:42, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! You have done very impressive work on this article. I think that the long lists of awards is unnecessary - really only Tony Awards, Olivier Awards, etc. should be listed this way. Less prestigious awards really could just be mentioned in the appropriate production discriptions. Speaking of production info, I think you probably have given full descriptions for too many of the productions. I really would just choose the half dozen or so most notable productions to give full descriptions, and then just mention the others in the narrative paragraph at the bottom, together with any notable stars. Or, you could consolidate the descriptions for the 2006 and 2007 productions under the headings of "2006 productions" and "2007 productions". What is you intention with this article? Do you want to get it to GA class? If so, let me know and we can discuss next steps. In any case, it is certainly a very informative and useful article, and you have done excellent work. Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 03:10, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello!

I turn to you in order to ask for help on the above-mentioned aritcle. I want to expand it and reach a higher status. The case is, back in time, you have brilliantly expanded the article, but the characters section is now overly long. I think most of it can be easily incorporated into the Synopsis section, so that we can balance the sections, shorten the characters description (it is usually considered by GA reviewers as original reasearch, so it's better to make them short or remove it completely).

I thought would it better be if you made some copyedits and did that, so that I could start expanding the production, reception sections.

I strongly believe this article has potential. The Synopsis section is generally written well, but I believe most of the stuff in the Characters section, for example, "he begs Saratiji on his death bed to accept Shalu", belongs in this very synopsis section. On the other hand, this: "Sarataji, with her two daughters, moves to another town where no one knows of their history, and there she fulfils her political aspirations" can either stay in that section (Characters), or removed. I think most importantly we have to first mention that the film revolves around the character of Shalu, and then flow with the prose.

I really need your help, because I was very impressed with your work, and am very keen to improve it.

My best regards, ShahidTalk2me 22:07, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey again. If you cannot help me with that, or don't want to, please tell me that, so I'll start doing that myself. Regards, ShahidTalk2me 16:12, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Legally Blonde cast[edit]

Thanks for working with the cast section on the Legally Blonde (musical) artice and adding a section for notable replacements! I intended to do something like that last night, but I had my last final exam to study for so I didn't manage to get around to it. I just came across this article, Legally Blonde (musical) cast lists. I had no idea that this existed until just now, but unless the article needs to be deleted I think that a lot of the information in the main article should probably be removed (ensembles, for example). Honestly, my first idea was to write a section in prose about the casting for the original cast and then mention a few notable replacements, similar to Wicked (musical)#Other productions. What do you think about this? Oh, also, I'm leaving for home today, and I won't have regular internet access there, so if you reply it may take me a while to get back to you, but I will do so eventually. Sorry about that, but thanks! —MearsMan talk 12:22, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi back[edit]

Thanks for the note. Not sure why some people have to be like that, but your advise is good, I'd already applied it before your note... QaBobAllah (talk) 01:34, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article's plot is too long. Just because it is now under the max of 700 does not mean that it is okay. Its an excessive length and contains excessive minute detail and blow by blow. For a film of this length and simple plot, closer to 500 would be more acceptable. It is also too long in relation to the rest of the article. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 02:07, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the excessive detail but I disagree at your putting a cap at exactly 500 words because I haven't seen this "rule" being spouted anywhere else, but I'll cut it down as requested. Annie D (talk) 02:12, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It isn't a hard and fast rule, its just what my own experience in the film project and going through film GA and FA reviews have shown. For most animated films (or even really any less than 2 hour film with a fairly straight forward plot), around 400-500 words is a good length for the plot, and above that usually has too much detail or covers too many minor scenes. Thanks for cleaning that up, much better now :) -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 02:34, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Friendly note regarding talk page messages[edit]

Hello. As a recent editor to User talk:74.78.48.175, I wanted to leave a friendly reminder that as per WP:USER, editors may remove messages at will from their own talk pages. While we may prefer that comments be archived instead, policy does not prohibit users -including anonymous editors like this one- from deleting messages from their own talk pages. The only kinds of talk page messages that cannot be removed (as per WP:BLANKING) are declined unblock requests (but only while blocks are still in effect), confirmed sockpuppet notices, or IP header templates (for unregistered editors). These exceptions only exist in order to keep a user from potentially gaming the system. Thanks, Kralizec! (talk) 00:01, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I understand, but in this case, the editor blanked the warnings, and then immediately resumed with the same behaviour -- this would have caused the warnings to need to start from level 1 all over again. Annie D (talk) 00:28, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Warning levels only reset at the beginning of the month. If editors explicitly name the warning in their edit summary (as recommended at WP:UTM), then a simple glance at the IP's talk page history shows you the level of their previous warning. --Kralizec! (talk) 15:56, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Barbie Live Musical[edit]

Hi there, I appreciate your contribution on Barbie (film series), but with all due respect, I have to undo it since we want that page to be more informative about the Barbie Animated films itself. Since then, we deleted any information that are not related to Barbie Animated films (eg. Dance Workout with Barbie, Sing Along with Barbie - which are only special DVDs and not animated film itself). However, I suggest you can create another page for Barbie musicals...that is there are already other Barbie musicals these past few years (eg. Barbie Live Fairytopia, Barbie Live Mariposa, Barbie Live in The Philippines, etc.), you can really research about it or if you want to, we can do it together. I hope you understand. Thank you!

Bianca Anne Martins(talk) 02:52 PM, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

I'm confused, who is "we"? But fair enough, I thought that would be informative to the article since it's related to the film series. AD (talk) 07:03, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, they are informative. They are related but I'm afraid they are not part of the film series (you know what I mean?). If you really want to create a page about Barbie Musicals, we can do it. And we just add the link of that page (if ever we're done creating it) to the "See Also" of the Barbie (film series). Thank you for understanding. Bianca Anne Martins(talk) 03:29 PM, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Ariel's super strength[edit]

Ariel having superhuman strength is not OR, because we clearly see it in the original film. Namely:

  • Her moving a boulder blocking the underwater grotto without effort, which would be virtually impossible due to an imbalanced water volume pretty much sealing it tight.
  • Her grabbing Eric with only one hand and getting him up to the surface with little, if any effort.
  • Her climbing up a ship with minimum effort with only her arms.

That's superhuman strength, as there's no way a human with average abilities can pull that off, especially someone of her build. We don't need to source Albert Wesker having superhuman strength since the games make it exceptionally apparent. Same deal here. And the filmmakers made sure to make the underwater physics as realistic as possible when making the movie (as stated in the commentary), so no, it doesn't even have anything with just cartoon physics.

I will concede your point to the electric abilities addition, though.

I saw what happened on The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning, with two different and clearly related IPs, 113.190.212.64 and 113.190.210.243. I reverted some more edits and left a note and a warning (adding unsourced information) on the talk page of the most recent IP. Notice

The file File:MaryPoppinsLondon.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Decorative non-free use in Mary Poppins (musical)#Act II. A non-free image is not needed to show the principal members, even in costume, of the cast unless the screenshot itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary or the image is being used to support critical commentary about costuming, etc. used by the actors. There's really none of the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 and removing would really be detrimental to the reader's understanding or the relevant section of the article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
