Vetrina

Hi. There is no agreement for reducing the dimension of the symbols. There were a lot of posts about this, and we have decided to keep the dimensions that you can see. In it.wiki we have no "good articles", we think for us "Vetrina" is enaugh. --Roberto Segnali all'Indiano 03:27, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi there - you nominated this for GA I think. I've reviewed it. I think it has a long way to go, but check out the review page for feedback and contribute to improving it if you wish. Regards. hamiltonstone (talk) 10:44, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Re: This

Hello, may I ask where you got the consensus to make that edit? I'd like to peruse over the discussion. If you proceeded to make the changes without a prior discussion; can you please reread WP:BOLD (spec. "Non-article namespaces"). Thanks in advance. ScarianCall me Pat! 00:10, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Found the discussion. But I see one person has commented on it and I must protest that that isn't the sort of consensus you'd look for. And that one person has actually disagreed with you. Any thoughts on this? ScarianCall me Pat! 00:14, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

I apologize. I've sort of been in the Simple English Wikipedia mindset, and I admit I mustn't forget that en.wiki is so much different from simple.wiki! obentomusubi 07:23, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

You don't have to apologise! You haven't done anything wrong; I was just interested! :-) Thanks for replying. ScarianCall me Pat! 12:37, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

What happened? ResMar 18:24, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi! The members of WikiProject Hawaii have not updated it in a few months. If you would like to collaborate with me on an edition for May 2009, then please talk to me about that. I would be more than interested in helping you in this. obentomusubi 19:10, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Very good! I may redesign the style of the newsletter so it looks more newsletter-esque. obentomusubi 02:33, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
The font is nice, but I kinda perfered the small text size, made it more compact (accessibility issues?) ResMar 21:28, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Make your tweaks and it's ready to ship. ResMar 17:58, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

GAR?

I, like you, am impatient and do not want to wait weeks and weeks for a Good Article Review. I was wondering if you wanted to try your hand at a review? Middle Colonies is up for GA, and if you wanted to dabble, it would save a lot of time, rather than waiting around for a long time to see if it passes or what I should improve. Gracias! Cheers! Orphaned non-free media (File:Soon We'll Be Found.ogg)

Thanks for uploading File:Soon We'll Be Found.ogg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:31, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Spanish request

Hi Obento Musubi, I saw you linked to a Spanish version you started of HB 444, and I wanted to ask whether you could please help me with something. I started an article on Ram Narayan on the Spanish Wikipedia and wanted to ask whether you could please help me put something worthwhile there and translate the intro of the English article into Spanish? Thank you! Hekerui (talk) 22:37, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

Yes! I will start as soon as possible. Is there any chance that you and I may work together to get H.B. 444 to FA status? obentomusubi 22:55, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the translation! I saw you nominated the article. I wonder what the reaction will be. Don't you think it's a little early? They'll come for Alttext and broken links at once. Hekerui (talk) 10:32, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
No problem! I don't know how people will react. If en.wikipedia is the same as I had left it, then this would have no chance of passing. It seems here that all that matters is quantity, and if quantity's not met, it automatically fails. Anyway, I appreciate what you did with the article. Keep me updated on civil unions and/or same-sex marriage, and let's definitely do more collabs soon! obentomusubi 10:33, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Yes, it's a little early, considering I didn't do any peer reviews or anything, but it's worth a shot. obentomusubi 10:33, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, but I withdrew the article. I already failed one FAC and to submit the article when it's not ready will just result in humiliation. I'm glad you like it though. Hekerui (talk) 10:36, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
It's okay, I don't mind. It's sort of your baby, so to speak. How do you recommend we elongate it or make it better? obentomusubi 10:47, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
They put the nomination back on for some reason. Please repeat your statement that you approve the withdrawal here. Hekerui (talk) 20:41, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. I sure want to see more articles about interesting topics like this one get featured, but featured status is so difficult to achieve nowadays - an article basically has to be polished to the iota before the content itself is reviewed. Merry Christmas and thanks again for taking the time to translate for me, it's very much appreciated. Hekerui (talk) 22:53, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
No problem. Hey, if you know a thing or two about government, would you like to collab with me with Baehr v. Lewin? I'm actually taking AP Gov right now, so I understand some of the legal jargon. obentomusubi 23:03, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Template:Album tracks has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Thank you. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 22:53, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi Obento! I like what you’ve done with the template {{Reference necessary}}. The small dashed underline ending with {{citation needed}} really achieves the goal of the {{Reference necessary}} template. However, an earlier editor had added the words, “Example text,” to the template and that phrase, “Example text,” was then appearing in every article on which {{Reference necessary}} was applied.

With this edit, I removed the words, “Example text,” from the template and that phrase, “Example text,” no longer appears in the wikiarticles in which the template is used. I think it looks pretty good now! I hope you agree. Thanks! — SpikeToronto 07:56, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Thank you! obentomusubi 07:58, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
I've also edited the template so that adding it to an article places the article into Category:All articles with unsourced statements, Category:Articles with unsourced statements, and/or dated subcategories thereof. I’ve tested it in a little-noticed, obscure article that I wrote that almost no one has ever read and it seems to work. Yeah! — SpikeToronto 08:51, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
P.S. I’ve also made a series of edits to the documentation that are discussed on the template’s talk page. Thanks! — SpikeToronto 09:36, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Unwanted move

Please move Template:Greek Alphabet back to Template:Table Greekletters, because all articles about Greek letters already exceptionlessly use Template:Table Greekletters name. No one wants to take advantage from your move. All tries to fix this according to your move inside articles gets mercilessly reverted. I hope that you understand this problem. 216.18.231.82 (talk) 21:11, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

You can mark Template:Table Greekletters with speedy delete template and then move Template:Greek Alphabet to freed name. In this way you will restore consensus, which is defended by reverts mentioned above. 89.238.170.150 (talk) 12:12, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion templates are listed at CAT:SDT, so please restore template name consensus. Thanks. 89.238.153.24 (talk) 12:26, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Is "Obento Musubi" from some African language? If yes, "the" is alien to it. 216.18.231.82 (talk) 21:11, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

It is like Kunta Kinte, too from another African language. 80.67.28.174 (talk) 21:18, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
No, it is Japanese. Look at bento and onigiri for more details. To clarify, "the" is an English definite article. Cheers, obentomusubi 03:01, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:A Place To Hideaway 0005.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:A Place To Hideaway 0005.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:42, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:02, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Carpenters Hollywood Star Image--contradictory language

Hello Obento. The license on your image of The Carpenters star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame says that you have released the image to public domain. However, your comments request people to ask your permission before certain uses. This is contradictory. Public domain means free to use for any purpose, as stated in the license. You might want to clarify which approach you wish to take. Thanks.Historydude58 (talk) 08:22, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Golden Girls title card.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Golden Girls title card.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. George Ho (talk) 08:02, 18 November 2011 (UTC)

It was really helpful of you to you to upload File:Queen II.jpg. However, we need to properly format the image license information in order to keep and use new images.

Replaceable fair use File:Representative Jo Jordan.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Representative Jo Jordan.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 22:28, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Better source request for File:A Day at the Races (Queen).jpg

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. WP:FOOD Needs You!

Hi there The Obento Musubi! I've noticed you have yourself listed as a member of the Food and Drink Wikiproject. Unfortunately it looks like the project has been slowly sliding into inactivity except for a couple of people. That makes me a sad potato, and nobody likes a sad potato amirite?

If you'd like to turn my frown upside down, can you do two small things?

First off, go here and add {{Tick}} (checkY) next to your name if you're still part of the project.

Second, go to the project talkpage and participate in a discussion about how to make the project more active, and how to go about making articles in our area of interest a lot better.

You don't want to make me cry, do you? Potatoes have a lot of eyes you know. So come on, join in! :)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Grandma Yetta.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Grandma Yetta.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:16, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Pride 2014

Hi TOM. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Wikipedia, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. See Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. If you are interested, you might consider creating a page for a major city (or cities!) near you, with a list of LGBT-related articles that need to be created or improved. This would be a tremendous help to Wikipedia and coverage of LGBT culture and history. Thanks for your consideration, and please let me know if you have any questions! --Another Believer (Talk) 16:33, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 17

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Hawaii, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Keith Robinson. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Replaceable fair use File:Apple Product Image, MacBook (2015).tif

Thanks for uploading File:Apple Product Image, MacBook (2015).tif. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Chase (alternate account) (talk / alt contribs / main contribs) 06:43, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
