Greetings. You uploaded File:NIT Srinagar Logo, User Template.jpg as a replacement for the non-free image File:Nitsgrlogo.jpg, to be used on Template:User NITSRI. I'm quite sorry, but the logo is owned by National Institute of Technology, Srinagar. Taking it from them, and uploading it yourself, does not transfer copyrights from them to you. The logo is not your work. It was not created by you as you claimed in this diff. I've relabeled this image as non-free, and tagged it for deletion as an orphaned non-free image, as well as removing it from the userbox template you were using it upon. Please do not upload non-free images and claim them as yours. If you have questions about this, please let me know. Thanks, --Hammersoft (talk) 12:51, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Hammersoft. The file File:Nitsgrlogo.jpg is already uploaded on Wikimedia commons and is used in National Institute of Technology, Srinagar. Since the image is already in use, can't it be used on Wikipedia again? I uploaded the image because every image used in templates is uploaded locally instead of uploading them on commons. The logo is necessary because the template itself is about NIT Srinagar. Is there a way out? ~ The UltimateTalk 13:45, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • File:Nitsgrlogo.jpg isn't on Commons; it is uploaded here locally as a non-free image. Commons does not accept non-free works such as non-free logos of educational institutions. Since it is a non-free image, it must comply with all 10 of the requirements at WP:NFCC. #9 there specifically states that non-free images are only allowed only in articles. Templates are not articles, and therefore non-free images can not be used on them, even if the image is used elsewhere on the project. There is no way around this that results in this image being used on the template. Alternatively, you can look to Wikipedia:Userboxes/Education/India for inspiration on what you can put in the userbox. If you have questions, let me know. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:15, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • And again, with File:NIT Srinagar Lolo, Blue.jpg. This is not a copyright free logo. Please stop uploading various versions of this and claiming it is free of copyright. It most emphatically is not so, unless you can produce something from the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar indicating they have released copyrights to the image. If you think there is some free version of this, I invite you to discuss this with me rather than try again to upload this image and use a non-free image outside of article space. Thanks, --Hammersoft (talk) 02:42, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Infoboxes[edit]

Hi, I'm not sure I completely get the point of what you're doing to those infoboxes. Here for example, you've removed the set of pushpin maps and added an image map that is a duplicate of the map already found immediately after the infobox. This map doesn't show the surrounding areas, so it won't be as helpful to those readers who aren't already familiar with the geography of that part of India. You've also removed many fields like the postal codes or the population date. Was there anything wrong with any of these? – Uanfala (talk) 11:10, 9 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I understand what you mean by this but there's already an Infobox for the Indian districts and I've changed infoboxes for the districts only. In response to the map, the image map is the map of district only because the article is about the district itself. The pushpin map may be more helpful in the infobox of its headquarters because the district signifies a region with boundaries. I've done this because every other district infobox already ahs the image map instead of the pushpin map. I've removed it from only one article to establish iniformity. Please reply your views. ~ The UltimateTalk 11:16, 9 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi The_Ultimate. I handled a request for page protection you submitted for this page. The IP editor is correct; the person you are edit-warring to keep on the list of notable alumni should not be on the page, as they are not notable. If they were to have a Wikipedia article, then they would be notable. I've declined the protection request and suggest you stop edit-warring over this as you are not correct. Orphaned non-free image File:NIT Srinagar Logo, User Template.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:NIT Srinagar Logo, User Template.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:40, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Articles needing additional references from January 2020 Language articles missing Glottolog code Language articles without language codes Language articles without speaker estimate Languages without family color codes

Fix these categories Anzer Ayoob (talk) 00:35, 30 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The articles created by you look more related to you and less significant and lacking references. Wikipedia does not allow personal opinions about something. The articles need to be neutral. Your userpage is in my watchlist and you seem to be indulged in sockpuppetry using more than one account. You may be blocked indefinitely for violations.
