Lenticular technology

Good catch with the above spam article, but you dn't need to put a warning on the article talk page (at least, you never used to) only on the authors. :) SGGH speak! 18:57, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

No worries, keep up the good work. SGGH speak! 19:39, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion tags

Good work doing RC Patrol, but once there is one speedy-deletion tag on an article, I don't think anything is gained by adding others. Leave it and move on to the next candidate - they keep on coming! JohnCD (talk) 20:18, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

RC Patrol

RC Patrol is short for Recent Changes Patrol - people who spend some time looking at recent changes, particularly newly-created pages, to see if they need tagging for speedy deletion or proposed deletion, or with other tags like {{unsourced}} to show that they need improvement. On the left of the screen you will see a link "Recent changes" - that gives you a screen which has too much detail to be much use, but at the top of it you will find links to "RC Patrol" which will tell you more, and to "New pages" which shows you the 50 newest pages that have been created. A good many need a speedy-deletion tag, but take care to read WP:CSD carefully, because the criteria for speedy are quite strict. JohnCD (talk) 20:29, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Images requiring clean up

Hi again, not sure what you mean. If you look here you'll see the page has stayed the same since September. If you want to question the most recent edits, I suggest talking to User:ThisIsAce. Sorry I can't be more help, but I'm not sure what you mean. SGGH speak! 21:37, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Oh I see. I thought it might be that, I left a message on the talk page informing them that they need to find new images as examples. As I don't maintain the page I wouldn't know what to replace them with. All the images were deleted in accordance with policy. Replacements will just have to be sought by those who maintain the page. I'm not the best to ask. See if the edit history has a common contributor, and ask them. :) SGGH speak! 22:32, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion on Kevin Anderson (AW)

Hi - I have reviewed and declined the request for speedy deletion that you put on Kevin Anderson (AW). The reason I declined it was because the page was created by a new user at 21:31 and by 21:32 you had requested speedy. I believe it is too soon to be making the decision to delete the page. Since the user is new, they're still trying to figure out our systems, learn how to add content, etc - I'd appreciate it if you'd put it on a list and check it in 24 hours or so. If there's still no meaningful content, let me know on my talk page and I'll delete it at that point. Thanks for watching new pages, but you might just be aware of how long the creator has been a user and how frustrating it might be for them to join, try to contribute, and have a page deleted one minute later. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask me. - Philippe | Talk 21:37, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 22:29, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

HELP ---- FUNNY ICON

I use Twinkle to automate some tasks such as reverting/reporting vandalism and adding speedy delete taging/reporting. It adds in the graphics and is very easy to use. Hope this helps. Jons63 (talk) 01:11, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Snakehead britishcover.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Snakehead britishcover.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:52, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Ninja Buddy

Please review the definition of patent nonsense. Leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions. Thanks! Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 20:17, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

It depends on the content of the article, really. Since the definition of patent nonsense is so specific, it can't be used in a lot of cases, for instance with Ninja Buddy. The first time, I deleted it under A7, and the next time under G3. If there's not another speedy deletion criteria that applies, feel free to PROD or AFD the article. Not everything can be speedied, which is sometimes good and sometimes bad, but when it can't but still should be deleted, it's best to tag it with a PROD or an AFD. Cheers, and keep up the good work! Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 20:26, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Article tagging

No don't worry, I'm not going to bust your chops about tagging articles now too. I saw that you've been tagging a lot of articles for maintenance and that you're a Twinkle user. Those two things combined make me think you might want to give Friendly a whirl. It's a Twinkle-based tool that gives you a "tag" tab on articles so that you can apply maintenance templates as easily as Twinkle lets you do speedy deletions. If you want, give it a try, and be sure to let me know if you like it! Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 21:44, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Oh it was just a joke since I had just left you a message about proper use of CSD criteria A1. No worries and happy editing! Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 21:49, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Stub tagging functionality was previously a part of Friendly, but was removed per this discussion. Use of the {{stub}} tag is deprecated and discouraged nowadays, as it is more productive to sort stubs based on categories. Friendly does have the {{expand}} tag that you can use instead of {{stub}} in the meantime, since they essentially mean the same thing. I am planning an update in the near future that will allow you to tag an article as a sorted stub, so then the stub feature will be back in. You can post further enhancement requests to Friendly's talk page so that the whole community can discuss and participate with them. Cheers! Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 21:55, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Oh, and the first letter of my name is "i", not "l".  :-D Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 21:59, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Could you refine and wikify as needed and remove the "cleanup" and "wikify" tags? Please let me know if you are unable to do so.Suniti karunatillake (talk) 22:43, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Box at Top

I saw your request and lent a hand. Hope you don't mind. --NeilN talkcontribs 22:51, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

If you go here User talk:Thehelpfulone/header and edit the page, you can customize the appearance. --NeilN talkcontribs 22:54, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
I replaced the header subpage with just the simple {{talkheader}} template since you don't have archiving or anything else that I have set up on your talk page. That little piece of text is all you need to make that box appear! Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 14:09, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Rocko Socko and The G-Spots, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 17:11, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Because you created the article. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 17:13, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
You should always look at the final product after editing, so you can see if it does look right. Also, newbie, don't be afraid to use a speedy tag on things that do not overtly claim some sort of reasonable notability (i.e. John Smythe, III was President Lincoln's personal tailor; is an attempt at reasonable notability; this game is teh coolest evar and everyone plays it!!!11!one! is not). Have fun! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 17:20, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Twinkle?

Well, gee, thanks for the advice. Personally, I'm just doing this for fun and stress relief. But I might try the bot later. Thanks a ton, cool-helper-guy! Denna Haldane (talk) 20:45, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Signature question

Hi. I noticed your comment on User talk:Jeeny, and thought I'd help. In your preferences, in the box labeled "Signature", you add superscript like this just add YOURTEXTHERE on the sides of the text that you want superscripted. Rjd0060 (talk) 18:09, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

For example if you want your signature to read like:
User:Thehelpfulone (talk) 18:15, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Then add:
[[User:Thehelpfulone]] [[User talk:Thehelpfulone|(talk)]]
To the signature box. - Rjd0060 (talk) 18:15, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

RE: Suggestion to Create a Bot

While that is a good idea, I'm afraid it probably wouldn't be approved. You would make such request here. This type of bot has been discussed before, but it always gets denied. See Wikipedia:Bots/Frequently denied bots. Hope this helps you. - Rjd0060 (talk) 21:57, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

I have never heard of one on here and don't know how to set one up. Hammer1980·talk 21:49, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Look at the code, near the top you will see the lines that correspond to the existing ones. Just copy and paste one and change it to the new image. Hammer1980·talk 21:56, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

I have removed the speedy deletion tag you placed on the above article; there seems to be enough context to be a valid stub, and being (current president, soon-to-be) CEO of a Fortune 100 company seems to me as an adequate claim of notability.—Random832 17:28, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Your reversions of Betacommandbot

Please stop. To begin with, the edits being made by the bot are not vandalism, and your labeling them as such is inappropriate. Secondly, the bot is doing what it is supposed to do - put warnings on images which were not uploaded with proper documentation. I looked at just one of the things you reverted, and the bot's labeling was quite proper. It was an album cover that did not have a rationale for fair use. When you understand how fair use works, and what Betacommandbot is doing, then you might be right to revert the edits, but what you are doing now is verging on vandlism, and I request that you stop.
