Question

Hey, what is "removing vanity". Do you erase adjectives like beautiful, becuase that is an opinion?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.128.195.198 (talkcontribs)

Hey, that's great, but...

That's a nice trick! I'm glad you figured it out. WHile I would not miss the info box, however, it was asked for in the featured article discussion. Mind if we put it back for now? --CTSWyneken 22:20, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Wow! The mechanics work! Let's move over to the Luther talk page to talk out the tweaking. McCain is busy there and may have suggestions. --CTSWyneken 23:54, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Userpage request

Hey, can you make me a user page. Mine is bare at the moment, and I'm new to wiki so I don't get their markup and shit.

My major article is JD Walsh.

Banners/colors

I just went there a few minutes ago and it looks great. It really fits the them of the project. :-) — The King of Kings 22:59, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, we got some good users working for the project. But know we need someway to get the attention of newcomers and people who need assitance. The project is pretty inactive as far as that aspect is concerned. There will always be people, but we need to find them first. :) — The King of Kings 23:06, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
You mean thier Trading Spaces program? Yeah, it would be better if we could get Esperanza to merge thier project into ours. Wanna make a request on the talk page of Esperanza. — The King of Kings 23:14, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
*Chuckles* Ok, I guess I'll do it. Give me a few minutes to write it. :-) — The King of Kings 23:19, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I know. :-) Wow, this project has gone a long way since its potential deletion. — The King of Kings 20:27, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I will perform a merge if consensus is reached to do so. I'm waiting for Celestianpower to give a real "go" message before I perform any kind of merge. — The King of Kings 20:34, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Yes, Indeed!

You are very perceptive! 8-) All I would change is a gavel graphic for the triangle. --CTSWyneken 10:25, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: New Wikiproject

Hi, Thetruthbelow. Sorry for my late response, I've been a bit distracted. Still, I would be happy to join WikiProject User Page Help and have added myself here, if that's okay. :) Cheers, Sango123 02:51, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

TOC at Luther

It looks good, except we need a few pixels padding around the edges. If you can't figure it, no sweat! I can try later (I don't go till tomorrow) if you can't get to it. In the meantime, could you move the seal up under the info box and push down the TOC if they are close to each other or overlap? Thanks! And safe travels. --CTSWyneken 10:41, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

UPH

Hi, I'm not that great at userpage design, but I saw the project on Esperanza's talk page, and decided to give you guys a hand. I hope that I can help in some small way!! The Halo (talk) 21:26, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

A short Esperanzial update

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

I dont know why people are under the impression that I left Wikipedia, but I haven't, and I'm not. I quite that project though. — The King of Kings 20:24, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Please, I never want to hear the words, "please come back" again. I quit the project, and a lot of other things, because I dont want to be to interactive with the community right now. No one was "mean" to me, no one needs to be blocked. I'm happy to help you create things, but I will not be take part in what you are set out to do. — The King of Kings 20:31, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Well, I don't use a script. I modified it, so all you have to do is edit a page and either write "on" "off" "sleep", etc.. If you want me to set one up for you, I will be glad to do it, but I can't do it right now, because I am setting up a custonm .css file for User:Dure. GeorgeMoney (talk) (Help Me Improve!) 01:27, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Any ideas on a sig?

Good to see you back! I've not figured out yet how to do a sig that has username linked to user page, (talk) linked to talk and a time-date stamp. Do you have an idea how to do this? --CTSWyneken 02:57, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! It does look good! Can you add a time stamp? Then it will be complete. --CTSWyneken 16:00, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

WP:UPH Participants

Yeah... About this edit. I thought we were gonna not use the founder business because of complaints. --GeorgeMoney (talk) (Help Me Improve!) 05:06, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

No need to feel bad. I just didn't want us to get in trouble. But, it's ok :) --GeorgeMoney (talk) (Help Me Improve!) 05:15, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
I don't know. I like to think of these moments as "hibernating" for the project. Believe me, alot of projects I created are in "hibernation", for example, WP:WPCSS, or WP:WPCAT, etc.. We just have to give it time. But, we need more people to answer the help requests. It seems only me and nathan are there. --GeorgeMoney (talk) (Help Me Improve!) 05:20, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Justr wanted to say sorry four my writing on your page. I wasd just goofing arond.

My Brother!!!!

Hey ESkog, I just walked into the computer room and saw my brother on the computer on Wikipedia. I kicked him off, and when I logged on, I was blocked! Can you help me please. Thank you, Thetruthbelow 06:20, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

what is your IP address. I need it to unblcok.Blnguyen | rant-line 06:31, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

my IP address is 67.166.255.181. Is there any way that you can block it and leave my account open? My brother just got grounded from the computer, but I don't want him sneaking on later to do more harm. Thetruthbelow 06:32, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
No, the IP block prohibits all registered users from accessing through that IP. I've unblocked the IP, but you'll have to lock the computer if you get off your seat. Regards, Blnguyen | rant-line 06:35, 27 June 2006 (UTC).
I have heard other users complain of family members doing this. Here is a suggestion: Change your pc password and keep it secret. When you leave your pc press win+L to force re-login when another attempts to use it (that works for Windows don't know about others). That will prevent anyone else from using it when you are away from it.--Dakota ~ 06:44, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
My brother actually wasn't using my account, but the IP address. When they blocked the IP, my account was blocked also. Thetruthbelow
Yes, that is always the case, when the ip is blocked your account is blocked. I mean lock the pc the way I said on (Windows Xp). If he does not know the password he will not be able to use your pc.--Dakota ~ 06:51, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm not sure locking the computer away is a good solution. Best is to get hiom interested in doing constructive editing. Is that possible? David D. (Talk) 16:05, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Wow, you can just kick your brother off when he's using the computer? That must be nice. ;) Sergeant Snopake 17:33, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh, because he was vandalising. I thought you just kicked him off because he was there, and then you found out he'd been vandalising. Sergeant Snopake 17:51, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Where's RfA

I think putting the unsigned template after someone's comment is a disgrace. So can you sign your comment on where's rfa? Thanks, --GeorgeMoney (talk) (Help Me Improve!) 18:30, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Phaedriel's RfA

I'm sorry, but you can't vote before the nomination has been accepted. That is why often times you see "beat the nom support" because the nom has to wait until it is accepted, and ususally at that time, they are not around, so they get to vote later than many people. But, it's ok, because many people make that same mistake. Cheers! GeorgeMoney (talk) (Help Me Improve!) 18:40, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

My sweet Thetruthbelow

Haa, marúawe, my dear Truthbelow!

My sweet, dear Thetruth, before saying anything else, allow me to send you a great hug and my most heartfelt "thank you!" for the beautiful words you've gifted me and your most generous offer to nominate me. You've actually taken the step of approaching me just as I was about to visit you! All you've done for me show me how lucky I'd be to call you a friend from today on, should you want to accept me as yours. With people like you around (and everyone above these lines too! I see we share many friends as well :) I know WP will live for very, very long, for the bright spark of kindness that you and our friends bring into this place will only enlighten it and bring out the best of everyone involved in our project in the years to come.

I have no words to express how deeply moved I am by your offer to nominate me, my dear T - although we have never interacted directly before, you've still considered me worthy of your trust, and that's something I'll never forget. You may have observed, tho, that just a few lines above your beautiful message for me at my Talk Page, several friends had already extended me the same kind gesture a few days ago; and my request to wait, at least for some days. You see, this decision is motivated basically because I have no rush, but specially because of a *very* personal issue that, if you forgive me, I'd rather not discuss openly (and which has nothing to do with Wikipedia, don't worry!) You've also decided I am worthy of actually making the move and already prepared a page for me - this drives me speechless, not to mention all the incredibly kind (and undeserved! ;) words of praise you had for me. You see, long time ago I made a promise that, should I ever apply, I'd save the nominator spot for a friend; and I always try to honor my promises. It is because of these things that, although I can't accept your wonderful offer right now, I'd be honored to keep your beautiful statement at that page, and should the moment arrive, to have you as a co-nominator. I hope you understand, sweetie, it is only because of circumstances that have to do entirely with me, not with you - many people will envy me for having such a wonderful friend and the mere chance you've offered me.

Whatever the results of that are, if it's destined to happen, it is of little consequence to me compared to the marvelous gift I've received today: your kindness and, above all your friendship. That is enough reason for me to celebrate the day. You'll be in my prayers tonight, and every night. With my greatest hug, Phædriel tell me - 23:45, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Phaedriel's RfA

It looks like she doesn't want to do this at this time. I am not sure if we should revert our votes, or perhaps we should delete the page (with her permission), so that when she does eventually go for it, it doesn't have a "2" appended to the rfa. What do you think? If you decide to remove your vote, then go ahead and remove mine, too. Thanks --rogerd 05:49, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Sorry! It's been a busy week! Yes, I've used it a couple of times (see above), thank you! I do need to get the time stamp into it before I can use it widely. Then I've got to figure out how to use it easily. Finally, I'll probably play with the colors. Bob --CTSWyneken 02:07, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

I got them both, and you also made my eyes go wet, my dear T ;) Thank you, thank you, and thank you again! *smoochs* Phædriel tell me - 00:17, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! It's working!

The sig now works! What do you think of the color scheme I'm trying? --CTS Wyneken 13:38, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Then its official! Thanks for cleaning up my act! --CTS Wyneken 15:54, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Not likely anytime soon. It really needed some work, even without the flak it didn't deserve. We'd need another five or so supports. --CTS Wyneken 16:00, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

In the light of the efforts on all sides to get along, I think you should take it up on talk before doing anything. We have strong feelings both ways. The issues: I hate the white space. We've gotten critique that we don't have enough subsections. This adds more white space. Others hate the crowded look that our boxify solution provides. I suppose we could create an other related articles box, esp. seeing the long term solution to the size issue is to spawn a bunch of children articles. We could run it in the white space. But maybe that would be crowded... --CTS Wyneken 16:08, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

TOC days

It is a very interesting concept, but I don't know about how it looks. Let's go back to the previous and see what folks on the talk page think. That is, if they'll talk... --CTS Wyneken 16:36, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
