draft Richard Franklin White rejection on Julie Standell's sandbox

To reviewer Theroadislong,

I don't understand the criteria (italics) that made my page about Rick White rejected:

"This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia."

What cited resources are not acceptable for significant coverage? I did research in his hometown area, and also interviewed him via email. I also received photos and a video of the National Rock Con Fan fest's activities, that demonstrated his participation during the 3 day event.

Does Rick White need to be famous for making recordings or performance appearances that are documented and/or contained in journalist interviews, before a Wikipedia page can be created for him?

Based on what other musician entertainer's Wikipedia pages I have reviewed, prior to making this effort, I thought that my content met the same standards as theirs. The Human Beinz were a musical group that made hit records in the 1960's.

Rick White was a member of that band AFTER that time period, because the band attempted a Revival on 2005. I was told that the original member Ting Markulin authorized & approved him as a legitimate member of the band and as approved lead singer for The Human Beinz, officially. I also previewed The Human Beinz Wikipedia page & found Rick White's name listed as a member, thereby confirming his status.

I wanted to make this page to specifically show his own singing career & the story that led to him joining The Human Beinz.

Please offer some specific suggestions for me, so I can improve this page or decide to abandon it. I appreciate your review & help.

Cordially & respectfully, Julie Dugan aka Julie Standell Julie (talk) 22:07, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

You have ten sources none of which mention White?

Sources need to be in-depth coverage of Rick White. Theroadislong (talk) 07:30, 12 October 2019 (UTC)

Draft: Sándor Köleséri

Hi

What is your problem whit this article? It's just teasing ... Wikipedia is packed with much lower quality Hungarian-related articles than the one I was editing. For example, how can this article be published? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sándor_Kömíves

A novice editor would need some help, not a continuous tease .... Marketingtanacsado (talk) 08:22, 12 October 2019 (UTC)

Jeremiah Asher

I have your message rejecting my brief article on Jeremiah Asher. I gave it another shot, adding some additional references. If it is still unacceptable I hope someone more competent will take up this task as Asher is an important figure in American (and particularly African-American) history and it seems to me that he deserves a Wikipedia entry. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joeywahoo (talkcontribs) 09:15, 12 October 2019 (UTC)

Thank you.

Thank you for the brutal truth. I now understand what "citations" really mean. I appreciate the time you took to explain this to me. I am a novice at this kind of thing; but I had some enthusiasm to create this for Rick White and thought it could be a partial legacy for him & his family.

Thanks again.

Jeremiah Asher

Thank you for guiding me through the process of getting this entry published. Here is a link to a photograph of Jeremiah Asher. Adding it to the entry seems to be beyond my ability at this point. Thanks. http://www.civilwarbaptists.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/asher_jeremiah.jpg Joeywahoo (talk) 18:48, 12 October 2019 (UTC)

Request on 20:18:13, 12 October 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Illbadler

I disagree with your decision to delete my revised draft of an entry on Steven "Akili" Walker

Friend,

Thanks for reviewing the revised version of my article on Steven "Akili" Walker.

Your main comment was that "discogs and allmusic are not reliable sources" -- which was what the first editor said when s/he rejected it. I accepted that criticism, which is why this revised version doesn't cite discogs a single time. It does, however, cite Billboard magazine frequently, which is a reliable source, as well as the New York Times.

I agree, however, with the broader complaint that the references in the revised version "do not show 'significant' coverage." I submit, though, that this lack of in-depth coverage is an occupational hazard for an audio engineer, whose work occurs very much behind the scenes. For the sake of counter-balance, I noted a number of the prominent artists on whose recordings Akili worked over the course of 30 years, all of whom have Wikipedia articles devoted to them. They include Jimmy Cliff, Humble Pie, Ahmad Jamal, the Mighty Sparrow, LL Cool J, Bootsy Collins, Jimmy Spicer, Lovebug Starski, The Fat Boys, Onyx, Lester Bowie, and the Art Ensemble of Chicago.

This is a roster of Hall of Fame musicians. I hope you'll reconsider your decision to reject this submission.

Illbadler (talk) 20:18, 12 October 2019 (UTC)

Illbadler I didn't say it should be deleted? I declined it because it's sources were not sufficient to pass WP:GNG. You appear to have two drafts on the same page too, courtesy link Draft:Steven Walker (sound engineer) Notability is not inherited I'm afraid, Wikipedia requires there to be in-depth coverage of HIM in multiple reliable sources. Theroadislong (talk) 21:38, 12 October 2019 (UTC)

Re your most recent comment: I understand that at first you were confused. Then I directed you to the most recent draft of my article on Akili Walker. I wondered if you'd changed your mind about rejecting the article once you saw that I'd replaced all of the citations from discogs.come with citations from Billboard. As best as I can tell, your reply was to inform me that you'd been confused because I'd posted both versions one after the other. But you offered no assessment of the revised version of the article. Sorry, but have I missed something? Illbadler (talk) 20:20, 13 October 2019 (UTC)

You need to remove the first draft and make it clear what is to be reviewed. Eleven of the sources are to Allmusic, these confer no notability at all and should be removed, there are large parts which are still unsourced where did the info come from? Theroadislong (talk) 20:27, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
The Billboard sources are just passing mentions eg. engineered by Walker, Wikipedia requires the coverage to be in-depth and detailed. Theroadislong (talk) 20:36, 13 October 2019 (UTC)

Enguage rejection... help?

Hi, Firstly, thanks for getting back so quickly, some of the instructions suggested it may take 8 weeks, or so. And apologies, I'm new to editing Wikipedia pages (as you've probably guessed!) - I'm not even sure if this is the right channel to get back to you?

Is it possible to help me with your comments on my article?

I don't doubt that my writing style might not match the style required in an encyclopedia, this is my first page. Most of my writing is academic, which I guess isn't a suitable style for an encyclopedic entry - I'm not presenting literature reviews, original research etc. I'm hoping to learn!

But, your comment that it is an 'advert' is a little vague, in that it isn't a commercial product. Enguage is open source software. Is /is/ the case that Enguage won the BSC SGAI Machine Intelligence Competition in 2016, which should make it notable, and I've included links to verify this. So, at what point does it become an advert? I certainly haven't used judgemental language/superlatives (e.g. "this is the greatest..." etc), and all claims are verifiable.

In my defence, I have included a COI marker, even though I do not receive any money from Enguage - it's not a 'product', as such.

Is there a 'starting point' where it goes wrong? Should I have started with a shorter article? Or do you not like the whole thing? I've tried to model my page on "Cucumber (Software)", but because my system programs in natural language it's not a run of the mill software program.

One of the problems with Enguage is that it is complex, and in explaining one thing drags a whole load of other things in.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, Martin.

Urgent: links to images on Commons

Hello,

The couple of links to images (downloaded by myself) on Commons, which I used are extremly relevant for the article. Do you mind if I keep them?

Best regards Patrick — Preceding unsigned comment added by PatmanSA1 (talkcontribs) 08:49, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

It's not a question of whether I mind or not, we just don't normally do it. Theroadislong (talk) 08:59, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for your comment.

Hi Theroadislong, thank you for the comments on Draft:International Council of Voluntary Agencies. I have attempted to resolve your comment by removing external links in the body of text and by making the language seem more neutral. I do believe that the organisation is notable and important enough to have its article on Wikipedia, and would appreciate any further help getting it approved. MrVertigo (talk) 09:52, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

Enguage rejection... help?

I've updated the page - drastically reducing the length. Ironically(?), it has removed more of the non-self references. Removing self-references seems to be worthless, as it sounds as if I'm scuppered in writing about anything that I've done, whether it involves any references at all? I'm going to resubmit, but with a little less hope ;-)

What are my options? Can I request that someone writes a page? Can I submit a stub (I think that what it is called as it nowstands) and hope someone takes up the challenge? If I simply asked one of my colleagues to author a page on Enguage, surely it too would mean that they would have a conflict of interest?

Cheers, martin — Preceding unsigned comment added by Martinwheatman (talkcontribs) 12:08, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

Ideally you would wait until someone totally uninvolved wrote the article, using secondary, independent published sources only. Wikipedia is not a venue for announcing new things or original research. Theroadislong (talk) 13:38, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

Artist meets WP:ARTIST

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Michelle_Lisa_Herman,_Artist

  1. The person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work.
  • Artist worked on permanent installation "The Indigo Room" by Eduoard Duval-Carrie as a collaborator [1]
  1. ...work must have been the primary subject of an independent and notable work (for example, a book, film, or television series, but usually not a single episode of a television series) or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews.
  • Artist has had work critically reviewed by The Washington Post 4 times and was reviewed by the national art news outlet Hyperallergic
  1. been a substantial part of a significant exhibition
  • Herman was invited to be part of the Washington Project for the Arts 40th Anniversary Exhibition which gained national coverage [2]
Notability is not inherited and I am not convinced that she passes, but you are free to move it to mainspace and let it take it's chance with any subsequent WP:AFD. Theroadislong (talk) 07:09, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

Orbit Logic Page

Can you give me some more feedback as to why the Orbit Logic page was denied? I've seen several similar type/size companies with Wikipedia pages and I'd just like a little more feedback as to how to get the page approved. What is the difference between the page I drafted and this one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OrbitBeyond ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by KacieTafer (talkcontribs) 19:01, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

The history section is unsourced and straight out of your marketing department, likewise the products section. When creating an article with a conflict of interest you need to forget everything you know about the subject and just report on what the reliable independent sources say. Please also read other stuff exists. Theroadislong (talk) 19:07, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

Can I cite published academic papers written by employees? Aka the developers of the software? KacieTafer (talk) 19:24, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

Santiago Bibiloni

Hello, I would like to receive advise on how to change the profile that I'm writing. As a biography of a businessman, there are many refferences about other companies due to the achievement done with or in them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Millie Vago (talkcontribs) 20:02, 17 October 2019 (UTC)

We don't have profiles on Wikipedia? Your draft is full of unsourced puffery and inappropriate content, terms like "serves Worldwide top Agencies a Consultants" " tech entrepreneur" "passing 7 final exams in a row -one cal" " an introspective & motivational blog that become popular" " world's most active fund" " frequent speaker and jury in international events, postgraduate classes, accelerators and more" "Bibiloni was born in a wealthy family and since young, he felt a social responsibility of giving others the opportunities he did nothing to receive and deserve" Theroadislong (talk) 22:00, 17 October 2019 (UTC)

Samling Institute for Young Artists

Hello and thanks for your message. I think there may be some confusion, as Samling Institute for Young Artists is not a business. It is a not-for-profit charity that supports young musicians and which has been awarded the status of Institute. I have declared my conflict of interest on the draft page, but please let me know if I did this incorrectly, or if I need to add anything anywhere else too. I have also posted on the Wikipedia help page to ask for clarification about where the article is not 'neutral' and why the sources are considered unacceptable. Best wishes, JaneShuttleworth (talk) 13:34, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

JaneShuttleworth Regardless of whether it is a business or not, you still appear to be trying to promote it. For example this "The Samling Artist Programme brings together emerging classical singers and pianists – usually in the final stages of their studies, or the early stages of their careers – with internationally recognised artists, directors, actors and movement and language coaches in a series of week-long, intensive, residential masterclasses. Participants are selected through a combination of recommendation and audition. The coaching is predominantly carried out in private, but the residential week ends with a public masterclass and concert." is entirely unsourced and promotional in nature. If your institute is truly notable in Wikipedia terms, best to wait until someone unconnected writes the article. Theroadislong (talk) 13:57, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

Draft:Forward Networks

Hello there,

Do you have some suggestions to improve this article? It was rejected for sounding like an advertisement, which I agree is an unacceptable trait in any Wikipedia article. I did do my best to make it sound objective and I cited sources. But if you can give me suggestions on what I must do to improve the article to publishing standards, I will be extremely grateful.

Hello,

All the press articles refer to Him directly such as "he Run away boy" press article who has a picture of him and tells his all story and career at sea, "new vice president" press article with picture saying "gough one the oldest families in swansea and mentions record round cape Horn", "60 years ago" press article published 60 years after his death and saying how well known and loved seaman he was, "captain Gough burried" press article with lots of prominent people all mentionned, "for the widows and dependants press article where Gough is mentionned as representant of the pilots for donations during ww1, awarded with war medals, freemason, Etc...., He was globaly one of the most prominent mariner of south wales, cape horner, sea pilot, with a career of more than 50 years...Story linked directly (and proved with the boats he served on and time of serving) to the Copper ore trade(90% of the trade in the world went to swansea at that time), merchant navy during WW1, Sea pilots history, Cape horners...

Responding how Diego Tryno meets singer

In Zimbabwe he is quite a well known musician ,however he is known to switching genres ,thats why he might be confusing a bit, however judging with the articles i gathered from news papers,he is a hiphop and urbun contemporary musician ,google knowledge graph stated its called contemporary r&b .here are the supporting relevant links

https://www.pindula.co.zw/Diego_Tryno (This is a Zimbabwean biography Independent site ,it shows his background) https://www.newsday.co.zw/2019/08/musicians-fight-against-graft/ (This is a news article which shows his genre and awards) https://zimmagazine.com/10-things-you-didnt-know-about-diego-tryno-zimmagazine/ (This is a maggazine showing his background) https://blownaija.com/e-news-diego-tryno-and-all-generations-entwined-volumes-1-5-age-vol-1-5/ (This is a news article about his Album and upcoming projects) https://www.newsday.co.zw/2019/10/diego-known-abroad-stranger-at-home/ (This is a news article which he reviewed most of his information to the interviewer) https://www.lounge263.co.zw/diegotryno/ (This article shows his international collaborations) https://bulawayo24.com/index-id-news-sc-national-byo-171686.html( This is a news article talking about his background and upcoming projects) http://search.co.zw/diego-tryno/ (This another independent site showing his biography)

Judging with the about independent links ,he qualifies to be a singer because he got coverage from independent sources and news papers,i also have hardcopies of some newspapers and magazines if you will need those — Preceding unsigned comment added by MelvinSeja (talkcontribs) 12:00, 20 October 2019 (UTC)

You left a message on my article and im responding to it below

Hi Theroadislong ,thank you for taking time to check my article diego tryno ,now to respond to your question [Can you describe how he meets WP:SINGER please?]. When i created this draft article ,i had come across a news article about him on National Television ,so i went to google and i found out the didn't have Wikipedia ,however at that moment i only had 3 sites to reference ,which were available online ,but i'm happy to see there are more sites to reference now ,so i will provide them in detail. The first Criteria is the Criteria that i will be focusing on ,in my presentation ......[Musicians or ensembles (this category includes bands, singers, rappers, orchestras, DJs, musical theatre groups, instrumentalists, etc.) may be notable if they meet at least one of the following criteria.

1.Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself.[note 1] This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, magazine articles, online versions of print media, and television documentaries[note 2]....... He qualifies to be a singer because if we run a google search now ,the first to show is an Independent site ,that only posts biography's of reputable people in Zimbabwe ,this site is more like wikipedia in a way that a person can only be posted there if they are popular or of reputable status, here is the link Biography from reliable source ....The second source of Biography is the following site ,this site compiles biography from information given during radio and tv interviews only ,so they listen and combine the information ,it is an independent source of information ,here is the link Biography from Radio and Tv site..... These following is Award winning Magazine which is both online and on print ,it talks about his controversy and later talks about his collaborations ,i will combine the links since its the same magazine but ,we should note the articles has a different time frame Talks about his Collaborations, talks about his illuminat controversy.....The following is another award winning magazine which is available online and on print ,which posted about 10 things we didn't know about Diego Tryno ,combining this information from other sites ,i was able to create this draft ,here is the link 10-things-you-didnt-know-about-diego-tryno-zimmagazine/.......This is the last magazine to my knowledge which posted about the meaning of his album ,its available online ,im not sure about on print ,here is the link talks about his album..... This a news article from Nigeria which posted about the meaning of Age and a bit of his background ,here is the link His Age meaning and background.......... Now the following are national newspapers which posted about him ,the newspaper articles gives information randomly so i will try to explain them in detail.... 1 This articles ,explains about his old music ,then talks about his pending video release ,and then talks about his backgroud and how he won awards ,the name of the award and the year ,so all the information in this article could be used separately to create a biography about the artist ,here is the link to the article Newsday article where i got most information...... 2 The following news article is a recent one ,which talks about his previous projects and his soon to come album ,i didnt use much information from it but i saw that other contributors of this draft used some of the information ,here is the link to the article News article about his music...... The following is a most recent news article ,that i would have used if i had known it was there before ,the articles goes dip in the life of the musician ,im happy to see that other contributors of the draft did use it ,here is the link recent news article with many details .I also sited a magazine book which is not online ,so with all those articles from independent sources ,i say he qualifies through Criteria 1 to be a singer ..... I have noted about the many not usefull references you talked about and i will remove them and leave the only relevant ones .Thank You for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Georgiamarlins (talkcontribs) 13:15, 20 October 2019 (UTC)

Michael Buie

I am working to create a Wiki Page for Michael Buie.

Each Wiki page of an actor tends to provide information on the subject. Using the film Bombshell for example, Michael Buie is the only actor listed in the cast without a Wiki page. Same with Mystery, Alaska and The Next Three Days and the Marvel series Inhumans.

Does this make sense to you? What can I do to amend the contribution to take away the promotional aspect that you have chosen to block?

I have been trying to complete this task for some time. Please help TC2018 (talk) 17:29, 21 October 2019 (UTC)

All content requires a source, the draft has whole paragraphs with no sources. Wikipedia only has articles about people who have been reported on in-depth in reliable independent sources. It's not sufficient to just list his film roles with "proof" we need sustained in-depth coverage about him in reliable secondary sources. You have still not addressed the conflict of interest issue either. Theroadislong (talk) 18:02, 21 October 2019 (UTC)

You said that references "must" be inline. I agree that thewy should be especially with a mess like that. But do please recall that Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Reviewing instructions#General standards and invalid reasons for declining a submission says Avoid declining an article because it correctly uses general references to support some or all of the material. The content and sourcing policies require inline citations for only four specific types of material, most commonly direct quotations and contentious material (whether negative, positive, or neutral) about living persons. Many AfC reviewers seem to overlook this. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 22:26, 23 October 2019 (UTC)

DESiegel But please note that I wasn't declining the draft! I was merely leaving a helpful comment and have never to my knowledge declined a draft improperly for not having citations inline. Theroadislong (talk) 07:01, 24 October 2019 (UTC)

please help me, the User:Theroadislong is not helping me instead creating more difficulties for me.

Guidance needed on Independent Reference

hello,

I have submitted one article but this put on hold due to independent reference. But I already mentioned independent reference. They are independent and not related to the company. These websites hold a good reputation.

This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia

One poor quality independent source is not sufficient to establish notability I'm afraid. Theroadislong (talk) 07:41, 24 October 2019 (UTC)

deletion of User:Roger Wood

I'm not sure I understand the transgression. I can't quite remember what was on the page. I know I'd put several conflict-of-interest notices, but I think there was also a short bio. and a link to my website - is that the problem? best regards, Roger Roger Wood (talk) 16:37, 24 October 2019 (UTC)

Yes, user pages are not for advertising your real life business or website. Theroadislong (talk) 16:39, 24 October 2019 (UTC)

Entry on Ludwika Ogorzelec

Hi, I wonder if you can approve the above referenced article since I have made all required revisions a while ago. The article is still in the space for drafts, but I sincerely think it is ready to go live. Draft:Empower (software)

Hey,

Thanks for your comment. Your critic is that my draft needs in-depth independent coverage, not press releases and not primary sources. But how is that possible? Because its a brand and its not that common that sources are in-depth independent. Could you give me some advance please? Do you think that theres any chance that this article will be published?

This is the draft: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Empower_(software)

Thank you!

Best Regards, Til1004 --Til1004 (talk) 09:54, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

Wikipedia has essentially no interest in anything that a subject says or wants to say about itself: it is only interested in what people who have no connection with the subject have published about it, in reliable places. If there are no such sources, then we cannot have an article. Theroadislong (talk) 10:05, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

Why I had Declined

I'm a huge fan of a musical artist callled Kousai Orfahli so I wrote an article about him with the correct informations and he is not very famous but he is notable on google and other sites you can search for him and you declined my article can I know why please Thank you for your time . I'm afraid that none of your references are considered reliable sources and we cannot have an article without reliable sources. Theroadislong (talk) 08:14, 26 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi TRIL, this is probably a little outside of WP protocol, but I asked your indulgence. Draft:Naaz Joshi has been submitted for review. Please let it go through the process without deletion. I understand that you think it is promotional. I disagree. There is a shortage of articles like this for participants outside of the Anglo Saxon heterosexual world. I really think it deserves its own space and I have worked on it to improve it. I needed something constructive rather than get caught up on talk pages, which is what I seem to be doing (and wasting my time). To be candid, I am leery of articles about persons of Indian nationality, it seems that half of that continent wants their own WP article, but I find this an exception. There are less noteworthy articles out there. Suggestions welcome. And if you know of a worthy sandbox or draft that could use the help of a bumbler like me, please let me know. Thanks.Oldperson (talk) 22:46, 24 October 2019 (UTC)

Transit King Tycoon article review

Hello, I managed to add my references in the text. Does this now prove that what I write about the plot and gameplay are taken from independent sources? We are a small company with only one new game and a small, but growing community of players. I do not have dozens of reviews and articles about our game in my disposal. I was looking at the list of reliable sources from wikipedia's article WP:VG/RS and most of them have PS or console games only.

Can you give me some details on what information you would think would qualify for my article to be in Wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hobgoblin4ever (talkcontribs) 10:15, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

There lies the problem "I do not have dozens of reviews and articles about our game in my disposal." you are writing about your own company and there are not enough reliable independent sources and until there are we cannot have an article. Theroadislong (talk) 10:34, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

Independent sourcing in Joerg Hasford article

Hello, I am at a loss to see why my references 1, 6 and 7 do not qualify as good independent sources. I've read and reread Notability for academics and the guidelines for independent sources I think the organizations and the award statement given by the Society for Clinical Trials fit the criteria for independence and clearly states the significance of his work. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Jschalow (talk) 19:22, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

1. http://www.sctweb.org/public/about/fellow.cfm?id=32 SCT Fellows profile for Joerg Hasford 6. https://gmds.de/preise-ehrungen/traeger-des-paul-martini-preises/ Winners of the Paul Martini Prize 7. https://www.felix-burda-stiftung.de/felix-burda-award/preistraeger Winners of the Felix Burda Prize

The Society for Clinical Trials is not an independent source, he is a fellow there. Felix Burda Stiftung is not an independent source they awarded him the Felix Burda Preis and the same for gmds. Theroadislong (talk) 19:33, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

Ludwika Ogorzelec Reference

Hi, great catch about the lack of clarity regarding the publisher used as my main source. The source, of course, is not the Museum of Architecture in Wroclaw, but rather the Museum of Architecture PRESS, located in Wroclaw, Poland. I made the relevant changes throughout. I look forward to your approval. Thanks for being so thorough! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mandarin54 (talkcontribs) 19:54, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

SOCO International plc/Pharos Energy plc

Hello to you, Theroadislong. Earlier today I made a few edits to the SOCO International plc page to reflect its change of name to Pharos Energy plc, and in the course of doing so I realised an awful lot of the information on the page was out of date: descriptions of its areas of business and operations, references to public announcements made years before, out of date references, corporate logo and external links and so on. I made some, but not all, of the necessary changes. Even the title of the page is out of date: there should be a new "Pharos Energy plc" page, with the "SOCO International plc" page redirecting to that. You reverted my first pass of edits with a request to discuss on your talk page first, which might be related to the fact that the revisions were not comprehensive. I am very happy to undertake a full review and revision of the page, including sources, but I wondered if there was anything else you thought was necessary to discuss first. Look forward to hearing from you.Johnharkes (talk) 20:01, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

As you have a clear conflict of interest you need to discuss this on the article talk page Talk:SOCO International not here. You will need to provide reliable sources for any changes. Theroadislong (talk) 20:37, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

SOCO International plc/Pharos Energy plc

Thanks for the message. I am connected to Pharos, or at least was connected until relatively recently, as an employee. On the basis that I do not have authority to make changes to update the page, how would I go about providing source materials to Wikipedia's moderation team and/or an independent contributor to demonstrate that the information on the page is out of date or inaccurate? Or do I just stay out of it altogether and assume it will eventually be picked up by another contributor? How are other publicly listed UK companies dealt with on Wikipedia?

For what it is worth, the company's website www.pharos.energy and its record of Regulatory News Service announcements at the London Stock Exchange should both be reliable and verifiable sources. The company, as a main market listed company on the LSE, is subject to detailed disclosure and other continuing obligations contained in the UK isting Rules, the Disclosure and Transparency Rules and others.Johnharkes (talk) 09:29, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

You can list your sources on the article's talk page, independent sources are preferable though.Theroadislong (talk) 09:37, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi, once again. My entry on Ludwika Ogorzelec was rejected by Kvng because it only featured one main source. I have since revised the entry and expanded the list of sources to FIVE. Marc Nicholls: Rejected Wiki

Hello!!! I was curious about the rejection of my Wikipedia article. You said it was due to the lack of "notability" in the sources. I am confused as to what the difference between the sources I used and the sources used for Chris Little's Wikipedia page (they work together, and we used a lot of similar sources). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Little How can mine be better?

Thanks for reading and for taking the time to review the Wiki article :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Callynicholls (talkcontribs) 00:35, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

Who is "we"? user accounts are for single person use only. Theroadislong (talk) 07:10, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

When I say "we" I just meant me and whomever wrote Chris Little's article. I do not know who wrote it; I was just making an observation about how the articles we used in citations are incredibly similar. I would still appreciate some elaboration and an explanation as to how that article could be published and mine could not, despite us using similar sources. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Callynicholls (talkcontribs) 23:38, 30 October 2019 (UTC)

Reply to comment on Draft:Marek Szczesny

Hi Theroadislong Thanks for your feedback re: draft of Draft:Marek Szczęsny on Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk! Understood. Before proceeding to submitting...

The City Magazine and Polish Cultural Institute are included in the references - they aren't galleries (the former an independent magazine) so would they not be classified as credible secondary independent sources according to definitions on the notability page? I can also incorporate The Financial Times, Wall Street Magazine and The Week Magazine into the references to further buffer these. Would these 5 x independent (secondary) credible sources suffice to establish notability? Could I keep the existing primary sources used to back up the bio or would these jeopardize credibility? Or would you recommend I strip back the text/bio to only reference the 5 secondary sources above and allude to the rest in further reading/external links at the bottom?

Thanks in advance

IsuzB (talk) 14:56, 31 October 2019 (UTC)

The draft is still full of unsourced marketing trumpery for example "an AIl Management Software that serves Worldwide top Agencies and Consultants" " one of Argentina's fastest growing digital agencies, among other businesses" "passing 7 final exams in one call" " an motivational blog that became popular as posts started being published in various international newspapers" "recognized as a next potential billion dollar company." "He has non-traditional thoughts about religion, government systems, human extinction, currencies, territorial borders." "Since young, he felt a social responsibility of giving others equal opportunities" "As a hobby, he sometimes writes and speaks about self development and how to break paradigms". My article

Hello, I have received two messages from you. One stating that you have requested that my page be deleted quick and the second letting me know what I cannot write about because of conflict of interest. I never said anything about having relationship with the person I am writing about. I said that I know them as in I have met them and have had the chance to personally interview them and they gave the ok to publish anything about them. So there is no such conflict of interest. Also, I have seen MANY articles from other people that have less information less references and that have known the person that they have written about and have been published with no issues. I don’t understand why you and the other people that have written to me have been giving me such a hard time to post an article about an artist on this FREE information page. Please withdraw the request to delete my page, I spent a lot of time building this page for you to come and try and delete it because of your misunderstanding. If you have further questions or concerns feel free to contact me; preferably before you go ahead and request a deletion of my page or before denying my pieces. Thank you in advance.

Hello, Theroadislong.

Just read your comment on the contested edit for the Draft:Symington W. Smith page.
