Stop trying to promote InfoWars[edit]

Although Wikipedia welcomes editors with various points of view, it Wikipedia requires that they're at least minimally capable of distinguishing between reality-based sources and sheer fantasy.

Alex Jones's InfoWars has argued, with a straight face, that the Democratic party uses pizza parlors to smuggle kidnapped children to slave colonies on Mars, at the behest of extradimensional beings, and that most people don't know this because George Soros owns all other news sources and Hillary Clinton's witchcraft stops any other leaks. To anyone with a triple digit IQ, this is obvious bullshit, especially when one considers that Alex Jones's lawyers admitted he's just acting in a custody case.

This is why Wikipedia unanimously decided to block InfoWars as a source.

Any further attempts to promote or defend InfoWars on any part of the site will result in an immediate and indefinite block. Ian.thomson (talk) 20:59, 3 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

And another thing, don't copy and paste text from sources onto the site, especially copyrighted text. Ian.thomson (talk) 21:00, 3 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Guy (Help!) 23:12, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

There is absolutely no way I am trying to abuse the system, and I am, I'm fact, here to contribute to the encyclopedia. And that should be 'clear' especially as I am creating my Artist Page for my Dubstep artist name: thesourwarhead. I do not intend to misuse, or violate any terms of use, and would appreciate it if you would unblock me not only from posting/editing, but also the page I was creating for my Dubstep Artist name, thesourwarhead. Thank you! --Thesourwarhead (talk) 15:30, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Having looked at all of your posts so far, I see no evidence that you will contribute to the encyclopedia in a positive way. Your detailed defence of InfoWars has not helped you. ----Anthony Bradbury"talk" 15:54, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This blocked user is asking that their block be reviewed on the Unblock Ticket Request System:

Creating a page for your music career would almost certainly go against our policy against promotionalism. Ian.thomson (talk) 20:03, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Go Against Your Policy of "Promotionalism"?[edit]

How would creating a Musician/artist page "Go Against Your Policy of 'Promotionalism'?" That makes no sense. There are millions of Musician pages and Artist pages. Are all of those in violation of 'Promotionalism'? So why am I not aloud to do that exactly? Thesourwarhead (talk) 21:03, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There are only 5.7 million plus pages here, so millions is an exaggeration. But there are a lot, yes. As far as we are able to determine they are not written by the artists who are the subjects of the articles.----Anthony Bradbury"talk" 23:16, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

The block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption (i.e., that the block violates your blocking policy.) And/or the block is no longer necessary because I now understand what I'm blocked for, I will not do it again, and I will make productive contributions instead Thesourwarhead (talk) 21:09, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You copy-pasted the instructions without following them. Your edits to this page lead me to believe you think you are blameless and do not understand why you've been blocked. In particular, you should read WP:AUTOBIO, WP:RS, and WP:COPYPASTE. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 07:11, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
