February 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (ThroughTheWindow) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization or adding links to its website.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The article in question is Constantia Oomen. Thank you. DoriTalkContribs 04:07, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dori,

I noticed you made a comment on the page Constantia_Oomen. I changed the name of the page, because the name "Sten" isn't used anymore by me (Yes, I am the person this page is about). I have recently published a children's book under the name "Constantia Oomen" and will continue to use my baptismal name "Constantia". "Sten" was the name I used in The Netherlands, but my husband and I emigrated to the US and I do not use that name anymore. So I hope you understand, that I don't think the name "Sten" is appropriate in English Wikipedia. I am aware that I myself am changing this, but nobody else is doing it, and it needs to be fixed. Thanks!

Constantia Oomen

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please make sure to include an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history. Thanks! Materialscientist (talk) 05:44, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 05:56, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your article[edit]

Sorry you're having a hard time. Bruce Moen's article went the same way. If it's any consolation, your article has already made a difference, thank you! So don't blank it, that limits its ability to inform others.

Your coverage in English media appears to be the main limiting factor here, as accessible cross-referencing is what Wikipedia is all about. I'd encourage you to hang out more in English-speaking OBE forums, so you can share your expertise not only with a global public but also with a global circle of authors, movers and shakers (then Wikipedia-appreciated references will take care of themselves). William Buhlman's forum springs to mind, or perhaps the VML voyagers mailing list. 92.30.14.58 (talk) 10:52, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
