I noticed your photos on the North Side NRHP page. Very nice, thank you. You might check out WP:NRHP and see if it interests you, or WT:NRHP if you need any advice on National Register sites. I love "fully illustrated lists" and note that there are only about 30 sites left to photograph in all of Chicago! Thanks again. Smallbones (talk) 17:35, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

I got your message and it looks like you're doing very well. I just updated the "Photos needed" and put them on the talk pages, e.g. Talk:National Register of Historic Places listings in South Side Chicago which has 22 sites left. There are 5 on the North Side and 9 needed on the West Side, which makes 36 total needed. As far as the AVR goes, I'd guess that it is lost. Traditionally, we try to find a freely licensed photo on-line - have you seen the NRHP nomination for it? - is there a gov't photo? If so we can steal that! If there is no free photo, then we just take a photo of its last known location - see google street view Writing articles is more of a pain than taking pix, but it can help, especially in learning more about the site so you can take a better photo. Quick hint - start with Elkman's infobox tool, http://www2.elkman.net/nrhp/whohas.php ask me for help, or ask at WT:NRHP. Keep up the good work! Smallbones (talk) 02:07, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Yes, you don't need to try to do everything all at once, but if you keep plugging away at it, you'll eventually get it all. As far as "questionable neighborhoods," I'll suggest going on early Sunday afternoons, and just be polite to people. I re-did the Evanston photos needed list. My method is just to copy the whole list and search for "image=". My computer then highlights every image line in yellow, making it easy to determine whether there is actually an image listed. Then I delete the ones with images. Or you might search for "jpg" instead. Took about 5 minutes for Evanston. All the best. Smallbones (talk) 16:53, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
