O nota[edit]

Buna! Draga Tibi, o nota!

Notice

The article Wyverin Entertainment has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Primarily advertising. Company has insufficient coverage to be notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Dear Elliot,

though I appreciate your concern and advice, I am going to try and defend my article that you proposed for deletion. I will address your points and express my point of view:

Firstly you labeled my article as advertising. As you know, Romanian software companies and game developers are pretty much under-represented on Wikipedia, which would make any contribution (especially about companies with news media coverage) pretty valuable. In the community guidelines it says that it is frowned upon to advertise your own business. I am not associated in any way with Wyverin Entertainment, other than the fact that I play their games. I am not trying to sell a product, I am just trying to write objectively about their games which I (a 3rd party) mostly played.

Regarding the notability, please note that there are 4 news articles listed in the references, from 3 different cities in Romania: Sibiu, Suceava and Arad. In my opinion, this shows that the company had nation-wide coverage in respective cities local news. Furthermore, independent international articles were written about their games. I also need not mention that this company occupies the first 2 pages when googling their name.

In conclusion, although this company is not Microsoft, they have had enough coverage and they have collaborated with enough well-known people (as stated in my wikipedia article) to earn them a place in the (already poorly represented) Romanian video game developers category of Wikipedia, hence I shall remove the proposed deletion notice.

Kind regards, Tibikus (talk) 23:31, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think that's a fair defense. I've created an RfD discussion as some other editors I've spoken to couldn't agree on whether this article meets notability guidelines. I didn't actually see your response on your talk page but I will give it a read when I wake up in the morning and re-review the sources. I would recommend moving some of the inline external links because they're not necessary. If it survives AfD, I'll try and spend some time helping you to clean up the article. Elliot Talk to me 00:19, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your understanding. I edited the external links and some of the text in order to make the article more objective. I might have gone overboard a bit, probably because I’m currently the 1st ranked players worldwide on one of their games, but I truly want to make this an objective article. I hope it survives AfD.
