Unix redirects[edit]

Hi. Just curious what you're doing with the various Unix redirects. If you're trying to create redirects to a page, that's not quite the way to do it. Let me know if you need any assistance.  :) —Wknight94 (talk) 13:51, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Sorry for this mess, I was thinked about being easier my idea but not. I didn't know what SUS V2 meaned, and then used wikipedia but not appearing, later found that it was Single UNIX Specification V2 aka UNIX98 but not specific entry and only appear on Single UNIX Specification article. I want a separate very detailled article about this stuff and good redirects for the different named but too messed. Sorry I'm new with wikipedia and my english is a bit bad :/

Timofonic 14:05, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Go to #wikipedia, I use the same nickname ;)

Timofonic 14:05, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem! If you want to learn about redirects, the best place is WP:R. Just be careful about double redirects since they will not work. So if you set up A to redirect to B but B just redirects to C, A will not redirect to C. You would need to make A redirect to C directly.
So you have Single UNIX Specification Version 3 pointing to UNIX 03 but UNIX 03 is just a redirect to Single UNIX Specification. What you would need to do is either create an article for UNIX 03 (or Single UNIX Specification Version 3) or make Single UNIX Specification Version 3 be a redirect straight to Single UNIX Specification. —Wknight94 (talk) 14:34, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I'll do that when Wikipedia gets ok, today is too slow and fails sometimes. I'm not an Unix expert (but user of different unix-like OSes), but I'll start them based on information from others (but not directly copying, of course). What about talking of this on IRC (or say me some othermethod for discussing it fastly)? Since it can be better for asking you some stuff and discussing it, specially with the Wikipedia having too many problems...

Bee GNU/Hurd[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Bee GNU/Hurd, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. mms 20:51, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:ESS logo.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ESS logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:11, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article Yukifumi Makino has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No interviews or biographies available to expand/source the article

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your article Geda[edit]

Information icon Welcome, and thank you for contributing the page Geda to Wikipedia. While you have added the page to the English version of Wikipedia, the article is not in English. We invite you to translate it into English. It has been listed at Pages Needing Translation, but if it is not translated within two weeks, the article will be listed for deletion. Thank you. Old news, but I think this has been an error. Timofonic (talk) 15:38, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Geda[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Geda requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://soundcloud.com/geda-halo-g. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Are you kidding me? I didn't copy text from that soundcloud page. I'm not sure what my contribution was (I has been very inactive in Wikipedia, that's why I didn't read this first), but not about a music (rap?) band at all. Timofonic (talk) 15:37, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Fenix Project has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Only source is about DIV Games Studio. No apparent independent notability, more legacy of DIV

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
