To be completely clear: We have a policy of not answering questions that appear to be from people wishing us to do their school homework for them. The reason for that is that we wish for you to learn things - and if we do your homework for you, you'll learn less because of that...not more!

We can usually tell from the way questions are phrased that you're asking for homework answers - and you have shown a pattern of doing that.

So, please stop asking us!

That said, if you are stuck with a particular part of a homework assignment, then explain to us exactly what you've already looked at in an effort to do the work yourself - show that you're making an honest effort - and people will usually help you to get past that problem.

Your latest question, asking about "acid rain", for example - just makes our volunteers at the reference desk more annoyed with you. You clearly hadn't even tried to learn anything by reading our "acid rain" article. Now, if you had read the article - but maybe didn't understand some part of it - then it would be perfectly OK to ask us a specific question relating to your misunderstanding...but even so, we're unlikely to give you a handy essay that you can just cut and paste into your homework...we'll most likely give you other articles to go and read that explain that exact thing in more detail.

So - please don't post any more homework questions. Not only will you not get an answer - but you'll also upset our volunteers so that the next time you really do need our help, people will be too suspicious of you to respond.
