A tag has been placed on ODEL (PVT) LTD requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. February 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. CardinalDan (talk) 07:33, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to ODEL. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.--Chanaka L (talk) 14:49, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to ODEL, you will be blocked from editing. Someguy1221 (talk) 09:33, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Otara.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Otara.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:08, 4 March 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 10:08, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Get some information[edit]

i want some information regard why are your guys delete my article "Otara gunawardene" and how i correct that article

Hi, Todaylanka!
The article Otara gunewardene was speedily deleted under the criteria G-11, which states that an article may be deleted if it is "Unambiguous advertising or promotion". The article in question was almost entirely about Del Gunewardene's business and apparel lines and said very little about the person. If you believe that Del Gunewardene meets Wikipedia's Notability Guidelines, please feel free to re-create the article. I would recommend, however, that you read through Wikipedia's Reliable Sources to familiarize yourself with how an article should have sources and information that is reported in reliable media.
Hope that helps, and happy editing! -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 07:51, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
