Hi welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for creating this article. When we translate or borrow from other language wikis it’s a requirement to acknowledge the source. The best way to do this is to include it in your edit summary (e.g. “translated from de.wiki”) and there’s also a translation template you can add to the talk page. I’ve added it for you. Happy editing and please leave a message on my talk page if you need any help Mccapra (talk) 19:22, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for January 14[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Pazin, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Split. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Giuseppe Tarlao moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Giuseppe Tarlao, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) WP:NFOOTY is no longer a valid SNG, so GNG must be met. It needs several refs from independent, reliable, secondary sources to pass WP:GNG. It should have at least 3 of those. Please remember that routine sports coverage does not satisfy GNG, and that interviews, being primary sources, do not go to notability either. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Českolipsko[edit]

Hello! Apparently, there was a misunderstanding of the term Českolipsko and the blind translation of a bad page on the Czech Wikipedia. This word is a one-word colloquial designation of Česká Lípa District (try to google other districts: Mladá Boleslav District => Mladoboleslavsko, České Budějovice District => Českobudějovicko, Děčín District => Děčínsko, etc.). In colloquial speech, it can also refer to an informally defined area in the sense of "Česká Lípa and its surroundings". Some touristic subregions in the Czech Republic are designated by these terms to distinguish them from the formal districts. It is therefore mainly a linguistic and not a geographical term.

For these reasons, the content of the "Use of the term" section is quite meaningless. Name of the bird area refers to the district, name of the newspaper uses an adjective from "Česká Lípa" and also refers to the district (it is a newspaper of Deník with a regional editorial office in each district). Other usage examples refer to the tourist subregion, which is also linked to a district. The section on formation also refers to the district of Česká Lípa. The first paragraph is rather stretching the topic when the district did not exist yet. For consistency, the second paragraph would belong to the town of Česká Lípa (pages with districts refer to modern districts established in 1960). But it doesn't matter because the problem is that the citation does not contain this informations.

For these reasons, I am changing the page to a redirect. It would probably be better to translate mainly from the languages you know. FromCzech (talk) 05:49, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@FromCzech Thanks for the message. I accept your advice but IMHO the problem here is not the lack of understanding of the language but lack of knowledge of the culture. I know nil about Czech culture. I thought this was just the name of an historical region. I couldn't imagine this is just a sheer synonym of Česká Lípa District. Even while reading your message, I still pondered whether Českolipsko could stand to Česká Lípa District as Istria stands to Istria (County). Tommy Lee J. (talk) 20:44, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
