Interviews

Hey- I removed those interviews from Wool. The thing about interviews is that most of them aren't usable when it comes to authors. The general rule of thumb is that an interview should only be added if they can be used as a reliable source to show notability. Neither Successilism nor Isaac Hooke are considered to be reliable sources per Wikipedia. The guidelines are pretty strict that way. If an interview can't be considered a RS, then it shouldn't be added. The existence of interviews on other pages isn't entirely an argument for inclusion, as it might mean that the interviews linked are usable as reliable source or that the only reason the interviews still remain is that nobody has caught and removed them yet. They're not entirely linkable in the external links section, as that's more for the official sites and the big-big links that would be redundant to use as a source but are still pertinent enough to link to the main article. The thing about EL is that we have to be careful about what we include, otherwise it turns into a big repository of links to various interviews and reviews, which is what should be avoided with the EL section. Now if Howey got interviewed by Ursula K Le Guin or Gene Wolfe, we should absolutely add those. It's sort of tricky.

Now that said, no reason why you can't link to them in the talk page as the subject of discussion so any incoming editors can see what interviews we were talking about. Not saying that as a way to get around the rules at all... Tokyogirl79 (｡◕‿◕｡) 06:26, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
