Rod Macqueen vs Rod MacQueen[edit]

In 2008 you moved [1] Rod Macqueen to Rod MacQueen with edit summary "Correct surname case". The case was brought up at Portal talk:Rugby union#Rod Macqueen vs Rod MacQueen. My searches also completely support the old name Rod Macqueen. Did you actually investigate this person or did you go by the common spelling of McQueen in other names? PrimeHunter (talk) 18:11, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Initially I was working on Template:Australia Squad 1999 World Cup and had used Macqueen. At the time the Rod Macqueen article used the name Rod MacQueen so my reason for the move was based on the spelling used in the article. I agree the article should now be Rod Macqueen. Tomraider (talk) 00:13, 1 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I have moved it. PrimeHunter (talk) 01:28, 1 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rugby World Cup templates[edit]

You have stated in your comments for Template:New Zealand Squad 1987 Rugby World Cup that Every RWC Squad who has finished 1st, 2nd 3rd or 4th should be ike this. Why should it be like this? The documentation for Template:Rugby union squad makes no mention of including the competition result. I have reverted your edits on this basis. Tournament results can be found from the Rugby World Cup article. Tomraider (talk) 08:36, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at these squads:

Winners

Runners-up

Third Place

Fourth Place

I was trying to base those RWC articles on these squads because they are different than the rest. Mr Hall of England (talk) 10:35, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages George Smith and Bob Scott (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay[edit]

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
