Welcome[edit]

Hello, Tonidnewman, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself has been or will shortly be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, but if you want to use the content from it, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Scopecreep (talk) 14:46, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Toni newman requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Solomon7968 (talk) 15:33, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not for writing about yourself[edit]

There are many sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Myspace where you can write about yourself and your book, but Wikipedia is different. It is a project to build an encyclopedia, so advertising or promotion of any kind are not allowed, even in user or talk pages, and writing about oneself is strongly discouraged, for reasons explained at WP:Autobiography and WP:Conflict of interest.

User pages are intended for the volunteers, who are here to build the encyclopedia, to say something about themselves to assist communication within the project. They are not for "substantial content... that is unrelated to Wikipedia" like CVs or descriptions of books or films. Please see Wikipedia:Introduction and Wikipedia:User page for more information. Need source for recent edit to Toni Newman[edit]

Hi - assuming you are the subject of the Toni Newman article, as I noted in my last two edits there, we need a source for your affiliation with Parivar Bay Area. Also, you should not be making edits to an article about yourself. Please post on the article talk page with a link showing that you are now with Parivar, so that we can attribute this properly. Thanks! Funcrunch (talk) 16:44, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
