Anthony Acevedo[edit]

Hi Tonyace1! I see you're trying to improve the article on Anthony Acevedo, for which I thank you. You've been reverted a couple times because the edits created a few problems, but I'd like to help out because these are you're first edits and editing here can be confusing. First, thank you for the picture, it really helps improve the article. Adding "Catholic" to the Birthplace field in the infobox template isn't helpful, because that's his religion, not his birthplace. Although is Catholicism is mentioned in the article, it isn't really what he is known for, so it probably doesn't belong in the infobox. Please don't change the "known for" tag in the infobox to "memorials", this isn't correct, and these infobox tags have specific programming contexts that don't work when you modify them in that manner. Regarding "one full sister, half-sister" you may be right, as I have a guess you personally know the subject. However, the sources state he had two full sisters, and you haven' provided a reliable source. That's may be a bit much to digest all at once, but I wanted to try to give an explanation of why things happen around here. Please feel free to ask any questions, and I'll do my best to make your volunteer work here a pleasant experience. All the best, 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 14:35, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note on my talk page. You can reply on your own talk page if you want, it helps keep the conversation together. First, I am privileged to talk with you. I created the article on your father, and I hope it is an honor your family. Note that no one "owns" an article, that means that you are welcome to edit it, so long as the edits are within Wikipedia's policies. The most important ones here are verifiability and Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources. I know this verifiability policy can be frustrating, but it really does keep down the amount of vandalism and disinformation - if everyone were allowed to add whatever they "know" Wikipedia would be much less valuable. I'd like to tackle issue regarding his sisters (your aunts). Often the "reliable" sources get it wrong, and when I was writing the article I had to make my own judgement regarding which was the most "reliable" because often the "reliable" sources contradicted each other. It was long-enough ago when I wrote this that I can't remember if there were any other sources that stated one of his sisters was full, and the other a half-sister. If you know of a newspaper/museum/book that correctly states this relationship please let me know, and let's correct the error. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 16:12, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
