My name[edit]

By the way, my name means "seeds", this in case you wonder ;) Sambure (talk) 16:42, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, ok, if you knew some italian, I guess it's easy to understand :) If you know Italian then you know also Romanian. Since Italian and Romanian are the latin most closest languages. --Sambure (talk) 16:50, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I give you an example: Italian: Io sono acasa. Noi siamo due italiani. Romanian: Eu sunt acasa. Noi suntem doi italieni. --Sambure (talk) 16:51, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's true. That's why there are about 1,5-2 millions Romanians in Italy. I speak also Italian, though I never studied. I can also speak Spanish but there I have to learn for about 2-3 months. For Italian, every Romanian can read a newspaper and understand it. To speak it, one need about 2 weeks.--Sambure (talk) 17:06, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted article[edit]

  • ~Hey~*

I was wondering if you would consider (no obligations, of course) undeleting the infancy of an article on Ohtahara Syndrome. I accidentally started to follow the tutorial in the main page instead of the Sandbox--the first step of the tutorial is to test the links, which is what I did. I actually have the stub and some of the article already written and am ready to post it. But I completely understand if that's not going to work.

This one has spirit. (talk) 16:48, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for alerting me to the frivolous complaint by User:Perspicacite.

I find it rather ironic that he did not think it courteous or appropriate to bring it to my attention himself - but then that seems to be his persistent habit. Alice.S 16:41, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

I do appreciate you taking the time to give me some good advice to think about and apologize that I was bit "tired and emotional" yesterday evening.
Unless you object, I would like to re-word (and correct the many spelling mistakes) in my last comments and then (and in any case) move the whole section to my "P-Section" where I will probably want to put some of my edits in context.
Since I appreciate that we are probably in different time zones, if I do this before you have a chance to register any objection, you have my full permission to revert my polishing (but not the move).
Keep warm (if you are where I assume you are) and good luck with the job hunting! Alice.S 09:49, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Quervain tenovaginitis stenosans - copyright[edit]

Just to let you know: earlier today I tagged Quervain tenovaginitis stenosans with db-copyvio from http://tubious.com/quervain-tenovaginitis-stenosans, and you duly deleted it. It has been pointed out to me by Mentifisto that in fact tubious.com had copied it from Wikipedia, not the other way about. There was still a copyright problem, as the article said "Copyright. 2006 Lippincott Williams and Wilkins", so it's as well it was deleted; but I have learned something to check in future. I have also deleted the copy from tubious.com in case anyone should see it there quoted as coming from Wikipedia. JohnCD 17:04, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think the sequence is: (1) E.baracke copies something out of a medical textbook into Wikipedia, (2) within minutes tubious.com copies it, perhaps automatically, from WP, (3) I see it in New Pages, think "this looks like it was cut and pasted from somewhere" and do a Google which turns up Tubious. I've never met tubious.com before, and after looking at its home page I'm no wiser. E.baracke has only made one other (surviving) contribution, also a medical definition, Subacromial bursa, presented as a nine-word sentence, which somebody has tidied up and made presentable. I'll keep an eye out for any more contributions from him/her which might have copyright problems. JohnCD 17:31, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gave me a right scare you did[edit]

Your move gave me quite a scare when I came back and my contributions said I did a speedy request on a user page. For a minute there I thought that in my haste and sleepiness I didn't pay attention to where the page was at. It's all good now though, I figured out what you did. Thoguht you might get a laugh out of this like I did. Have a good one. Mikemill 19:16, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tonywalton,

Thank you for processing my request. However I can not "relicence" that material right now... I need to run it by my supervisor is that is what will happen. So you can remove the information afterall.

And with all do respect Mr Tonywalton, when someone writes a message in caps, it doesn't always mean that they are shouting. I was simply writing that in a hurry as I am at work and don't have a lot of time to be writing messages back and forth.

Thank you :)

Once Upon a Time in the West[edit]

I just had to say hello to someone who referred to Once Upon a Time in the West as "toweringly excellent". It may be my favorite movie and it's certainly was an amazing well done homage to the American Western genre. Too bad it didn't do better in the US initially, and the cut version was a sin. I have very fond memories of watching it with my father, who also liked spaghetti westerns. We both loved it. — Becksguy 19:35, 4 December 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Thanks for pointing that out to me. As it happens, I was going to post to ANI that he emailed me with a long explanation of what happened. He wants me to post it to ANI, but I refused. University Musical Society[edit]

Dear Tonywalton, I would like to create the article "University Musical Society" but am unable to do so because there is a redirect. University Musical Society is the name of the organization and it goes by no other name. UniversityMusicalSociety (talk) 16:38, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you, too, are involved in the Iamandrewrice phenomenon on the ANI... please go check the message I left there... and the message I left on EconomicsGuy... you have to understand... those sockpuppets were not from me... but my friend. Although yes I did make 3 sockpuppet accounts afterwards to try and let you know what was really happening...(but these were blocked, with my friend also going on these [as he knows I always use the same password] and getting them blocked before I had a chance to explain anything...). Please listen to me... I am not the one causing all these problems... if you listen to me I can tell you how and who it is that is causing this... but blocking me is in no way going to help because Im not the one doing it... If you dont believe me at least go and ask Jeffpw of his oppinions... Benniguy (talk) 18:10, 5 December 2007 (UTC) [reply]

so many people are involved in this I forget who said what, but somebody told him to make one account anonymously, and give me the name for verification through email. He is doing that now. IF the community thinks it's ok, and IF an admin signs off on it, I am willing to supervise him IF he promises not to make one single error on this website again. Lotta ifs, I know. But if it is possible, I will make a formal contract that he may not edit in mainspace or user space until I or an admin says he is ready to be trusted again--only sandbox edits that are approved to be placed in mainspace, and no annoying messaging. Let me know what you think. Jeffpw (talk) 20:29, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Of course. Sorry, I wasn't aware of the circumstances. Should have thought to check your talk page first. Revert away! :-) —Caesura(t) 20:31, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More Geometallurgy silliness. Geomet re-created the page again, and since I still didn't see a licensing assertion, I tagged it for speedy again, and an admin deleted it. Geomet then explained that the licensing situation had been cleared with you via an e-mail message from a company account. This seems fine to me (although maybe the permission should be sent to permissions-en@wikimedia.org as well just to be completely by-the-book), so I told Geomet to re-create the article and this time leave an explanation of the situation on the talk page. When Geomet does so, maybe you could leave a note on the talk page too, just to support his assertion that he has verified his employment status to an admin—just so dummies like me can stop tagging the page for deletion. —Caesura(t) 15:00, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LOL[edit]

LMAO yeh no worries man, the only reason I said that was because it is what I truly feel, and I didn't think I could get in trouble as that user is no longer a user. And yeh, as you have probably already gathered from my comments I am exactly that OVER IT and would now like to return to my happy experience with wikipedia. I now know not to use swear words to attack other users, no matter how pissed off a user makes me (or extremely angry if you don't like swear words) and use more creative methods of insulting like those used on me. P.S. How did you leave me a message so quickly? TeePee-20.7 (talk) 11:53, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Huh, lol I didn't even see the second link. Yeh that was just to let him know what was previously left on his page by me, I was thinking of changing the word to the translation "queers" but I thought if he was going to read my user page and try looking up the incident he should know exactly what was written. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 12:03, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
LMAO, yeh i getcha man. It was definately a one-off edit summary :). But yeh I see where your coming from with your examples regarding maricon, but I still don't see how it would be derogatory to a gay person. Like I said it was actually my cousin who is gay, and he doesn't take offense. I know that it is derogatory to a straight person in spanish, just as calling a straight person a queer in english would be derogatory, but I still fail to see why it is derogatory. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 12:18, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But I already explained myself to you from my second reply in this section, and explained myself to the user on their page which you were also able to read. I think you are being influenced and manipulated by a user I am currently not communicating with. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 14:00, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Derogatory terminology[edit]

Well I think that Big Brother person was a bit of a bad example as he was mentally unstable lol, so he would have been pretty unpredictable anyway. But also from a bit of reading of that link I think the controversy was caused from the combination of the two words. And PC yeh I wouldn't call it that, it's just a translation. If I had used the word "queers" I would not even be having this discussion. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 13:14, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you would have. Just as it is considered racist for white persons to use the N-word about blacks and not offensive if blacks use it themselves, it is offensive for straight people to use the word Queer. That is a homophobic expression that gay people have reclaimed, but still offensive if used by others. Perhaps you should read the Queer article. And I would take Ton's advice about your edit summaries. I see your edit summary when deleting my message from your oage as uncivil. Jeffpw (talk) 13:31, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Having been off-wiki for a time doing off-wiki things, I've had a think about this and I'm placing this here for both of you to read. FWIW I don't see the point — save to be gratuitously offensive (or at least uncivil) — in drawing attention in any way to someone's sexual preference or, come to that, their hair colour in a discussion where that attribute is entirely irrelevant to the discussion. Consider the following completely fictitious examples:
  1. I and another editor A are engaged in reverting what appears to be vandalism by an editor B on the article High-temperature flora of the Antarctic. I and A both identify as "straight" on our userpages. The editor B, who identifies themselves as gay, contacts a fourth party asking for assistance with these "straights".
  2. I and another editor A are engaged in reverting what appears to be vandalism by an editor B on the article High-temperature flora of the Antarctic]. I and A both identify as "black haired" on our userpages. The editor B, who identifies themselves as brown-haired, contacts a fourth party asking for assistance with these "black haired editors".
  3. I and another editor A are engaged in reverting what appears to be vandalism by an editor B on the article High-temperature flora of the Antarctic]. I and A both identify as "Aquarians" on our userpages. The editor B, who identifies themselves as a Saggitarius, contacts a fourth party asking for assistance with these "air signs".
In no case is a derogatory term used but it's clear that editor B is at least acting against assumptions of good faith - the subtext of their message is "these two editors have an agenda unrelated to improving the encyclopædia - their actions derive from their sexual orientation/hair colour/triplicity". The derogatory nature of the comment comes in implicitly accusing of bad faith. The same would apply were the different attribute skin colour, height ("help me out with these short people"), whatever. It could be argued that some attributes give different perspectives on a subject where the attribute is germane (though perspective isn't enough in itself; however a gay editor may be able to cite The Pink Paper as a source where a straight editor may not have read it, for instance).
Thank you both for giving me something to think about while sitting on the London Underground! Tonywalton Talk 15:47, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Piet Mondrian[edit]

  • I appreciate your comments. I did not appreciate the IP's comment on my talk page or here:[2] that looked like vandalism, I asked for a reference, and I reported the vandalism. Thank you Modernist (talk) 00:22, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, now we are talking art - Broadway Boogie Woogie is a late painting, and it has what can be construed as grey. However his edit is to the opening remarks that address Mondrian's classic paintings - Black, white, red, yellow and blue. Hey - he also painted trees and flowers. Modernist (talk) 00:27, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well gee whiz, Tony, maybe next time you should go to the museum. I'll look the opening over, although truthfully I've had very little input into the Mondrian article. Thanks Modernist (talk) 00:38, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

images[edit]

i am not adding it "just because i can", i added them to articles specifically relating to the sexual practice of anal sex, gay sex, and unprotected sex. For example the article for Bareback (sex) had no image whatsoever, i feel the image adds an illustration of unprotected anal sex or "barebacking" to the article. Its very beneficial and is in line with similar images on other articles, for example autofellatio has an image which is a photograph of a man sucking his own penis. As for you suggestion i talk to the other user, please check his talk page and mine, he only warns me and has never responded to any of the messages or questions i have left on his talk page. In fact he has never replied to me at all. He only has threatened to have me blocked if i continue vandalizing the wikipedia, but he would not tell me what or how i was vandalizing nor did he say how it was vandalism. I am assuming it is the image of anal sex meandmybf.jpg, but thats just logic. Any thoughts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ah0000000ga (talkcontribs) 02:23, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

p.s. your my little pony comment was hilarious. rofl.Ah0000000ga (talk) 02:32, 18 December 2007 (UTC) [reply]

speedy deletions[edit]

delete the article on Adonis Naces because it is a misnomer. correct article is Arturo Tolentino. if the GENIUS Tonywalton insists otherwise, then the GENIUS tonywalton better check the article on Arturo Tolentino. same goes to Vicentico Villegas article —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.14.85.246 (talk) 10:48, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
