Golden Gate shot not fair use[edit]

Hi,

The photo you recently uploaded of San Francisco under attack would be a legitimate fair use to illustrate the article on that TV episode, but not a fair use to illustrate Golden Gate Bridge. See Wikipedia:Fair use. I'm removing the photo from the Golden Gate Bridge article and marking the photo for deletion. Regards - Tempshill 20:23, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DS9: Paradise Lost[edit]

I know this is so not the point of wikipedia, but i was wondering if you could answer some questions about this episode. I remember seeing it as a kid, but the details elude me. So...was this furore ever resolved? Did it all come out that SF had attempted to take control? what happened the those implicated? Were they punished? Was the Bolian commandant involved? I'd really appreciate anything you could tell me. Amo 22:35, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, i clicked on the paradise lost article's history, and you were the only user listed. And your answer wasn't at all late (i work really long shifts) let me tell you what i've been thinking, and perhaps i could flatter you somemore into giving me some background on this stuff. I meanm i treid to read a ST novel, like, once, so you seem pretty hardcore clued up to me: I've just been thinking about the nature of the academy and it's commandant. there was a female commandant only a few years before (while Wesley Crusher was there), and picard had been asked to take the job just a few years before that. and then suddenly there's this bolian in charge. then presumably when leyton's conspiracy was uncovered, there was a pretty major shakeup thoughout SF admin... It just seemed odd that, seeing as you'd expect really old, experienced, people to take on the commandant position, none of them are mentioned as having died of natural causes. I guess i've particularly been thinking about it because of the rumours that the new movie would be set at the academy. Amo 20:13, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Picard_and_Sisko.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Picard_and_Sisko.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia 09:01, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Avery_Brooks_2003.jpg[edit]

I have tagged Image:Avery_Brooks_2003.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. BigrTex 19:47, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Justin Grant Wade[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Justin Grant Wade, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Justin Grant Wade. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Wolf Lake poster.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Wolf Lake poster.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:07, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Kate Asner has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not appear to have significant coverage independent of her father.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Moriwen (talk) 17:09, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
