You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.
If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
below this notice.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. Change of user name to personal identity[edit]
Hello Diannaa,
Does the following suffice for identifying the user with an individual?

- Well, yes, but Anthony Collins is already taken as a username. Do you have another that you're thinking of (like AnthonyCollins or something similar)? Origamiteⓣⓒ 03:06, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
Here are a few key questions:
- Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
- Do you understand conflict of interest?
- Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?
You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Diannaa (talk) 05:26, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
- Please note that using a real personal name is allowed, but not required. Any anonymous individual handle will do, so long as it not itself promotional or the name of a famous living person. If inspiration fails, look around here at what names are used. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 12:21, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
Change of user name to personal identity[edit]
Hello Diannaa,
We are interested to contribute in accordance with Editorial policy.
AnthonyCollins is acceptable.
Separately, are you able to respond to my query to Joseph. Namely: the edit we attempted to make was in context of the existing paragraph. With the change of user name, is it permissable to re-apply this edit, providing we don't cite the project page on our website?
Thank you
- The username "AnthonyCollins" would likely not be acceptable, because the username "Anthony Collins" is already taken. Adding the content without an accompanying citation would not be acceptable. Changing your username and dropping the citation so that you can re-insert the same edit is not okay. -- Diannaa (talk) 22:56, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
- Also, who are "we"? A Wikipedia account must be accessed by one person only.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 20:55, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
