Your edits[edit]

Hello Tqueenan. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:02, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Copied from User talk:Pdfpdf#St. Paul's College, Adelaide

I am the Systems Administrator at St Paul's College and we have recently gone through an identy overhaul, new logo etc. I have been tasked with updating our Wikipage and i'm still trying to get my head around how to use this site. The current information is extremely outdated and i will be updating all aspects of this page. I would appreciate if you didn't revert my changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tqueenan (talkcontribs) 01:46, 2 April 2012 (UTC) [reply]

Actually you can help me out. I need to change the title from St. Paul's College to St Paul's College (no decimal) apprently you need to have made 10 edits to be able to change this. If you could change this for me that would be great. Also i uploaded the logo to the wrong section so i will have to do that again.

G'day! I'm happy to help you improve that page.
I'm having internet problems right now, so I'll write this in short paragraphs. Pdfpdf (talk) 12:00, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
All wikipedia contributions must follow wikipedia guidelines. If they don't, the first person to come along and notice that they don't will revert them. If you look at the page history, you will see that most of the edits to this page have been reverted, because most of the edits have been rubbish. You will also see that many editors have made the reversions - not just me. As I said, I'm happy to help you improve the page if you want my help, but please note that any edits that don't follow guidelines will be reverted by the first person who notices them. By-the-way, please sign ALL your contributions on ALL talk pages with 4 tildes. (i.e. ~~~~) This lets people know who said what, and more importantly, when they said it. Pdfpdf (talk) 12:13, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Do you really want to rename the page? Have a look at Saint Paul's College. Nearly every one of them is "St.". Why do you want to be different? Pdfpdf (talk) 12:45, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What does the new logo look like? this one looks the same as this one. Pdfpdf (talk) 12:50, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Is this the new logo? Pdfpdf (talk) 13:09, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yes. You might want to put an {{under construction}} tag on the page. Pdfpdf (talk) 12:57, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Our website is still the old one, the new one is nearly complete and will be go live in the next few weeks, i hope. You can find the new logo on our Facebook Page https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/420917_336438019733016_241625309214288_931694_1494490591_n.jpg Yes we do want to remove the "." from St. Paul's College. Why i dont know, its what the PR person came up with when changing every aspect of the college. It is now St Paul's College on all our signage and stationary, etc. The PR person will be at work today so i will catch up with her as i know she wants a lot of stuff added to the page and some things changed. Tqueenan (talk) 22:18, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pressed for time at the moment - will reply properly tonight.
I will organise the page move to "St Paul's" - for technical reasons, it needs an administrator to do it.
Done.
Thanks for the pointer to the new logo. Until later, Pdfpdf (talk) 23:55, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Logo replaced.
St. Paul's changed to St Paul's within the article.
Now you can start on the REAL work ;-) Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 12:36, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The PR person will be at work today so i will catch up with her as i know she wants a lot of stuff added to the page and some things changed. - Remember to be careful about WP:COI. However, with me helping, I should be able to bring any issues to your attention before problems arise. Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 12:42, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Storm in an teacup?[edit]

Given the amount of noise you made, I'm surprised (and disappointed) that you've done nothing since. Pdfpdf (talk) 12:56, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
