Beckenham[edit]

I do agree with your comment about this place, and would be delighted to assist in whatever way I can. As a beginning, writing about settlements is covered by this article. You will see that there is a very handy layour suggested, which I always use. I also add extra headings, where needed or where applicable:

  • Education - although not a list of schools - that is frowned upon. There is a list of List of schools in the London Borough of Bromley to which ref should be made, and any important facts about individual schools made in the main article
  • Media (local press TV etc)
  • Twinning
  • Industry & commerce
  • Culture: museums, libraries, archives,
  • Leisure: anything other than sport

The Notable people section can be changed. I usually look to the left and click on "What links here". A long-winded job, but that brings up all people connected in any way. I then make out an accompanying article ie List of people from Beckenham; if you look at what I did for Sevenoaks it gives you a start for the layout. I always reckon that the names should have their dates included: this article doesn't do that so you have no way of seeing when they lived: there is no way of seeing how they compare with each other otherwise. Really important people can still have a short note in the main article.

Does that help? I'm a bit busy at the moment, but have taken note of the article. Regards Peter Shearan (talk) 07:25, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
