Winningest[edit]

I saw your edit summary at Gregg Popovich about winningest. It is defined at Merriam-Webster. My understanding is that it's probably American English, frequently used in American sports, so can be suitable per MOS:TIES in articles on American sports. Thanks! If it's standard American English and unambiguous then that's fine of course. But I think there is legitimate potential confusion; I would have guessed that winningest referred to proportion of wins, but a recent rewrite suggests the opposite.
