Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Baustistasoler.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 15:54, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Baustistasoler2.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Baustistasoler.jpg. The copy called Image:Baustistasoler.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. "Wags"[edit]

Hi Tris. I've retracted User:Thingg's warnings for "vandalism" which were probably issued over a cultural misunderstanding. As far I know, "wag" isn't a well known term outside the United Kingdom. For example, in Australia, calling someone a wag carries derogatory connotations that someone is immature or uneducated (wiktionary:wag). So before you continue mass-tagging biographies as "WAGs", I suggest you bring it up at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion first because the confusion you may cause might outweigh the merits to creating such a category. --  Netsnipe   ►  17:34, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. Major, MAJOR my bad on that one. I'm really sorry about that. Please accept my sincere apologies. Thingg 17:39, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for apologising. As long as there's no trace left on my account of having "vandalised" a page, even though I haven't, then that's fine. Tris2000 (talk) 17:43, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, well, I'm not really familiar with British soccer. (I live in the United States and the only meaning of WAG that I knew of was purely derogatory) Just a word of advice though, this kind of talk page comments are probably not a good thing to write per WP:CIVIL. Thingg 18:35, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, but calling me a "vandal" when I'm not is not particularly civil either. Anyway, let's draw a line under it now shall we?Tris2000 (talk) 08:01, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I just wanted to apologize for my last comment. That was uncalled for on my part. Cheers! Thingg 02:56, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Any chance you could pop over to Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2008_June_6 to offer some support on this issue again? I've brought it up for discussion as per recommendations, but there does not appear to be a single Brit on that discussion area, and they are all saying delete because it's trivial. Tris2000 (talk) 10:03, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Try raising the issue at Wikipedia:UK Wikipedians' notice board. --  Netsnipe  ►  10:12, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks - have done so!Tris2000 (talk) 10:23, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thrush[edit]

I think your additions to the Thrush page are at the wrong article. All the European Thrushes are in the genus Turdus, so the food etc should be there, since it doesn't apply to the many other genera, or more likely at Song Thrush, since most other species don't migrate to the Mediterranean countries. Also note that you could add {{In lang|es}} (in Spanish) to the Spanish refs jimfbleak (talk) 15:10, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Jimfbleak: I had wanted to put it in Turdidae, but that redirects to Thrush (bird) which is why I got a bit confused. I have now found a page on the EU website, which refers to Valencians hunting thrush using parany (birdlime), but then goes on to mention the four members of the Turdus family that Valencians can hunt. See: Case C-79/03 which mentions the word "thrush" without referring to the four types on many occasions. I will therefore bow down to your knowledge on where exactly it should go... I'll add the {{In lang|es}} (in Spanish) as well. Tris2000 (talk) 15:26, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Further to my last comment, I have now added that EU page into the subsection, and await your recommendation regarding where it should be moved to. My guess is, although redwing and other birds are also permitted game in Valencia using birdlime, I think it should go under songthrush if not under thrush. Tris2000 (talk) 15:39, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved it to Song Thrush, by far the most likely. Since that's a featured article, is it possible to have better refs for the cuisine section than the on-line recipes? Failing that, they need to be formatted using citeweb. I've move the icon to the front again for consistency with the existing refs
Thanks - I don't have access to any other recipe resources other than the on-line ones, so perhaps won't bother linking to them... anyone wanting to find out can always Google it if possible. Thanks for doing this. I'll add the EU article as well, as it's a very informative one. It disappeared between your and my edits. Tris2000 (talk) 15:58, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please ignore, just realised you've moved the EU article ref across as well. :-) Tris2000 (talk) 15:58, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for doing this, Jimfbleak. Since this is obviously a topic you have an interest in, do you have any idea why on birdlime there is that strange Cyclopaedia reference above my references? And any way of stopping it starting with "1" and then restarting "1" again? It's actually a pretty badly put together article that will need some tidying up at a later date, methinks. Tris2000 (talk) 16:13, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've fixed the hoopoe bit and the stay number, I think the cyclopaedia bit can go when it's tidied up. jimfbleak (talk) 18:29, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'd just like to say that I agree with everything you said and it was very well put forward, also thanks for helping to keep the articles rather than delete, it should have never been put up for deletion. Thanks, Police,Mad,Jack (talk · contribs) 14:50, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome! Sometimes I really do wonder why people nominate articles like this for deletion when there's so much obvious rubbish such as hoax pages and personal pages that do warrant deletion. This is a clear contender for inclusion and I'd be surprised now if Gene or Sam will be deleted/merged, although not sure whether the will allow the others to stay as well! I hope so. Bildererg 2009 meeting deletion[edit]

Hi, thanks for your opinion of keeping the page. The problem is that the adm just removed yesterday, even writing the following: "The result was delete. By direct order of the Supreme Grand Illuminatus himself, I am disregarding the unfortunately too insightful opinion of Tris2000". Iḿ trying to discuss here and here. They are suggesting that "The decision was taken on policy/guideline grounds", which I disagree absolutely!!!! Please spread the message if you can, wen can't let them dilapidate the scarse information on bilderberg.Echofloripa (talk) 22:44, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewing Icke?[edit]

Given that it's been two months since you last made an edit to Talk:David Icke/GA2, does that mean you've abandoned the review? If that is the case, you should make that clear somewhere. Gabbe (talk) 08:44, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies - in the last two months since accepting to do Icke, I have gone through a divorce. A lot of things have changed in my life. It went clear out of my mind, and I guess I don't have the time as I have a lot to do now. What do I do??--Tris2000 (talk) 17:14, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, sorry about your divorce. Secondly, if you could post a brief note at Talk:David Icke/GA2 saying that you will be unable to conclude the review, I guess that would be sufficient. Gabbe (talk) 21:12, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Sogflation has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable neologism

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. LK (talk) 01:40, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Sogflation, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sogflation. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Re: Eye of the Tiger[edit]

Hi. Regarding the cover songs, per WP:SONGCOVER, they should only be mentioned if they're notable enough for their own article or if there is a reliable secondary source about the cover rendition (not the original song). It doesn't have anything to do with the notability of the artists. --Jtalledo (talk) 12:45, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for the explanation. I think it seems quite arbitrary. I could easily find plety of secondary source about the covers... the Jenn Grant one features in a movie soundtrack which is where I first heard it, and is being talked about quite a lot. But it takes time to build up a wiki page and to blanked-delete cover versions where secondary sources have not been listed seems a little extreme and there are thousands of pages out there where this has not been done. Far better, surely, to add a tag requesting a secondary source / more information, surely? I mean, every week, cover versions to songs by X Factor / American Idol / Pop Idol get added to wiki entries and this seems to be acceptable. Seems odd to me... Tris2000 (talk) 13:27, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there TRIS, AL from Portugal here,

i thought my summary in this player's article was sufficient, i see that it is not, let's try it again: the CIBERCHE database is indeed quite comprehensive for Valencia CF players, i don't doubt these figures are 100% correct, but these 355 games and seven goals are Mr. Puchades' totals for ALL competitions (La Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA Europa League, etc, etc), the box only allows for the league matches to be displayed (hence 256/4). The 1958 as final year in box was correct, the testimonial was AFTER he had already retired, does not go in box.

Hope this settles it, attentively --AL (talk) 14:05, 18 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Some time ago you added a legal story to Clare Hollingworth to have it reverted because Private Eye was not felt to be a reliable source. A bit after, an anon re-added it sourced from the Telegraph (not that I would trust the Torygraph over the Eye, but there you go) and it sat there until an anon with no other significant contribs, surely not connected to Thomas, removed it without explanation in 2012. I've re-added it and scared up another source. Just saying in case you remember all that... Pinkbeast (talk) 07:12, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of LGIM[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on LGIM requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. I dream of horses (talk to me) (contributions) @ 15:40, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry if you know this, @I dream of horses:, but Tris2000 didn't actually write the article - they created it as a redirect in 2009, which at the very least made more sense. Pinkbeast (talk) 15:43, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
