Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Grayfell (talk) 23:00, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced[edit]

Stop adding unsourced content. There must be sourced content in the article to back up the category. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 17:18, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

November 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed a recent edit you made does not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! GA-RT-22 (talk) 19:24, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Diffused categories[edit]

Hello.

Please see WP:DIFFUSE. With some exceptions, we generally don't include people in both a category and it's subcategories, as this would be redundant.

For example, Ethan Nordean is included in Category:People criminally charged for acts during the January 6 United States Capitol attack. This is a subcategory of Category:Protesters in or near the January 6 United States Capitol attack. By default, everyone in the 'People criminally charged...' category is already in the 'Protestors in or near...' category, so adding him to this category a second time will only make these categories harder to navigate, and will not tell readers any new information. Does that make sense?

Both of these categories also explain this.
