Consensus[edit]

Consensus building is one of Wikipedia's most important functions. I did not in any way intend to shun you or imply that contributions to the talk page were of lesser value than contributions to the page itself. My concerns were of an entirely different origin. I was merely wary of sockpuppetry, a malicious practice in which a user controls multiple accounts to push a particular agenda, especially in controversial topics. If you are genuinely a new user, please accept my sincere apologies; and I offer you a very warm welcome to Wikipedia.   — C M B J   08:59, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • You may have noticed there is at least one editor of Concerns over the 2008 Summer Olympics who thinks he owns the article, and has indeed been going around almost insisting his agreement to remove anything, or issuing veiled threats of uncivil behaviour against all who offend him/her. I have traded blows in the past with the user over his overaggressive attitude. I believe he/she has some major issues, and has been warned and blocked numerous times. I think the article does have a consensus, and we must not rely on one belligerent user to block progress on cleaning up the article. Ohconfucius (talk) 06:21, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry to even take this to an unrelated user's talk page, but I have requested input on the friction between Badagnani and Ohconfucius.   — C M B J   23:55, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand why this is happening. The user was clearly behaving unreasonably, and I didn't want to respond to Tsuchan's comments directly criticising said user in such a public place, so I brought it to his Talk page. It was a private conversation. Ohconfucius (talk) 03:17, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You are entitled to private conversation, and I didn't mean to intrude on that. Consider the request withdrawn, and I'll continue this over on your talk page.   — C M B J   04:05, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
