Alphonso Jackson[edit]

No offense intended in reverting your edits to Alphonso Jackson. However, any serious article on Sec. Jackson would have to cover the issues he faced. I applaud and actually agree with your assessment of some of the more gratuitously-placed "allegations," although it is not by any means Wikipolicy that allegations can or should only be discussed in WikiNews. I placed your edit concerning Alford's article within what I believe to be a more appropriate section, and I edited out the non-neutral point of view tone that may have been just misplaced frustration. I welcome working with you to elevate Sec. Jackson's article to featured status. -RoBoTamice 20:34, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank-you for your assistance, I am not that computer savy. As you have probably realized, Sec Jackson is very close to me and I feel that his true accomplishments have not and may never be told. You see at his level, change causes many enemies. It is a lonely pursuit for equality and fairness that is used to destroy a many mere mortal. Thanks again

Where would be the appropriate place to include his membership in Alpha Kappa Psi, he was recognized by his college fraternity and also I'd like to include his membership in The Boule, Sigma Pi Psi, where he served as Sire Archon for the Dallas chapter

No problem. I added some links and a welcome at the top of your page that may help you in editing. don't worry about the "savvy" aspect, wikipedia is extremely user-friendly, and most editors are really interested in creating a quality work, and, in turn, helping you become proficient in editing.
Correct citation is one of the best ways to strive for "balance," or more preferably, a neutral point of view in editing. Use verifiable sources whenever you edit, and inform others when they don't (in a respectful way, of course). IMO, an encyclopedia should not have an opinion (although it is perfectly appropriate to identify the opinion of a qualified source within an article), but rather simply state known facts or hypothesis.
Jackson's article would be helped by the addition of some specific and sourced accomplishments. As far as his memberships, the article mentions his membership in Kappa Alpha Psi; A seperate heading could be made to include all of his organizational memberships, if you have additions. Please note, his organizational memberships will eventually need cites too, especially the Boule, since Sigma Pi Phi historically had a "secret" membership (even though that is not necessarily the case present-day). -RoBoTamice 14:54, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome and deserving. A quick note: Custom on talk pages is to put colons in front of each new comment to off-set it a bit and to make it easier to see new comments. I also want to thank you for bringing Jackson to my attention. Doing a bit of research on him has been fascinating. DocTree (ʞlɐʇ · cont) Join WER 16:40, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
we are still going at it :) ttelloucTtellouc (talk) 13:59, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
