Cleanup of darlington article is most welcome! Never apologise for editing! SatuSuro 07:35, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you![edit]

Thank you for your welcome SatuSuro, it is very much appreciated. I have as yet to learn the ropes but once I have I will illustrate the Darlington article with some photographs, photography being one of my principal interests.

Good idea to read the intro stuff carefully as the whole process of loading photos and using them require a bit of back ground reading - the admin User:Gnangarra is a wealth of information about the photography issue SatuSuro 07:50, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll certainly do that before adding any pictures, thanks. Tumblingsky 08:12, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
By sheer coincidence gnangarra was here in the hills today - and I fixed up part of my adding photo issues - so some. The VIP issue with the Darlington review, darlington hall, and darlington articles is to expand them all - and find third party sources - and more photos. If you need/want help with that I can lead you through the process. If you have a copy of Elliot it would help as it has not been milked for all info yet. cheers SatuSuro 11:54, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see some pictures, well done. I've not been filling in the Edit summaries but will do so in future. I've a lot to learn and hope I am not messing things up or upsetting anyone with my changes. I don't have Elliot but hope, in due course, to do some research. I must admit to not being much of a historian but will enjoy delving in to this region's history. I have yet to read up about adding pictures. All the best. Tumblingsky 12:48, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The story is the art might be only on 3 eds watchlist - and maybe apart from I (used to live there) they are not interested too busy etc - I have the equivalent of a region of another state which i did a lot of work on and I havent seen an edit on any one of the arts in almost 3 months - so I think you are doing an excellent job in our small corner of the woods (hope youre not getting the same wood smoke we get further east on nights like this) - thank you and keep up the good work! no messing up but improving quality SatuSuro 12:53, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that's reassuring. I will do this in fits and starts. My computer is on the blink so I may be out of action before long and must buy a new one. It is much easier to have some text to work on than start from scratch(i.e., the Darlington article). I quite enjoy editing but it can be galling to have one's text edited by others. I'll be going through my pictures of Darlington soon and find some of the Darlington Arts Festival, etc., of which I have a few. Is there some particular protocol for adding them and should they be linked somehow to relevant text? Thanks. P.S, tell me if I am doing anything incorrectly, I won't be offended! How do add permission details?[edit]

I've uploaded an image (can remove if it is superfluous but wanted to get the hang of it) but changed it to another version and now the permission is missing but cannot find out where to add that. Can you help? Thanks. Tumblingsky 02:49, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Darlington cricket 0008 wiki.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Darlington cricket 0008 wiki.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:05, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi, why did you revert to a version from five years ago when amending four words? --Redrose64 (talk) 20:31, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thank you for contacting me about this error. I am completely baffled by what has happened, especially because I always preview my editing. Oh, I think I can see what I've done. I must have been reviewing an edit which I made five years ago and accidentally edited it again. I appreciate your reversion to the latest version! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tumblingsky (talkcontribs) 05:02, 24 February 2013‎

Clarification of meaning[edit]

In the section 'Melody & Repetition' of the article 'Missa Brevis (Palestrina) it says, 'The melodic pattern of the Missa Brevis contains much that runs adjacent to what many consider aesthetically pleasing.'

I cannot make sense of this and wonder if it should be re-worded or clarified in some way. Can someone explain how something, in this case the melodic pattern, can 'run adjacent' to something which is considered pleasing? Thanks.
