Non-Free rationale for File:LC 03 cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:LC 03 cover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under Non-Free content criteria but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a Non-Free rationale.

If you have uploaded other Non-Free media, consider checking that you have specified the Non-Free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:33, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rick Remender[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. You removed content from Wikipedia with this edit of yours to Rick Remender, but without providing a rationale for this in an Edit Summary. When removing material, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. :-) Nightscream (talk) 19:38, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unless the subject has undergone a considerable change in appearance, the photo shouldn't be changed unless the new one is superior in quality, is more representative of the subject's notability in some way. If you have one, I'm all for changing it.
Also, please make sure you sign your talk page posts, which makes it easier for everyone to know who they're addressing. You can do this by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of them, which also automatically time stamps them. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 21:00, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That seems reasonable. I'll e-mail him and see if I can get a better photo and I'll let you know. Thanks again, Nightscream. Utizzle (talk) 21:07, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It looks pretty good. I'm not sure about the fact that the light source seems to be behind him instead of in front of him. Would you mind if I call for a consensus discussion with other editors to decide which to use after you upload it? (It's what we do on Wikipedia when a matter like this comes up.) Let me know. Nightscream (talk) 00:07, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
All photos have to be uploaded to the project first before they can be used, since images cannot show up on Wikipedia with external links. If Mr. Remender wants to use the Attribution 3.0 license, then I suggest uploading it to Wikimedia Commons which is one of Wikipedia's sister sites, and is a repository for free-use media files like photos, audio, video, etc. Once a file is on the Commons, it can then be used across all the other Wikimedia projects, including Wikipedia. I use this upload form to upload all of my pics. Let me know if you need help with it and/or let me know when it's up. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 00:36, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good! For future reference, when uploading photos to the Commons, try to put it in the appropriate categories. For now, don't worry about it; I put your photo in the Rick Remender category, so it'll show up with the other photos in that category. I'm currently busy uploading the remainder of my pics from the Wizard World NY con, so I'll let you know when the consensus discussion is under way. Nightscream (talk) 15:43, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I've started the consensus discussion here. Nightscream (talk) 00:41, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
