Uwmktg,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I am very happy to have some help with the University of Wyoming page.

Thanks for the edits. They look really good.

I have been trying to improve the Wikipedia page for UW, but the amount of time I have is limited. It appears that you may work for the University of Wyoming. Which is fine with me, but there are Wikipedia guidelines about paid editing: Wikipedia:Paid editing (policy). It appears that you are fairly familiar with Wikipedia, so I'm sure you know about that. As I said before, I am very happy to have some help. I don't really care if you work for UW as your contributions look very good and I hope to see more of them.

Wikipedia is about community contribution and I know I do not have control over the University of Wyoming page, but I would like to discuss how I envision the "finished" page. I have looked over a number of other university pages (Colorado State University, University of Colorado at Boulder, Texas Tech University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Wikipedia:Featured_articles#Education, etc.) and it seems that a good page should have the following sections.

  1. History
  2. Campus
  3. Organization (Administration)
  4. Academics (Colleges)
  5. Athletics
  6. Student Life
  7. Notable Alumni

The page currently does not have a history section, an organization section, or a very good section about the Colleges. Most of the history section would come from Wyoming University: The first 100 years. The organization section would come from the State constitution, State statutes and trustee regulations. The section about the colleges I have been struggling with, but the Registrar has some information. It is tricky to present that section without any bias.

I am very happy for the help and perhaps this is too much for so few edits, but the quality of those edits and your username peaked my interest. My ultimate goal is to have the University of Wyoming page meet the good articles criteria and hopefully be a featured article at some point. I look forward to improving this page while keeping within the spirit of Wikipedia.

Thanks,

Uwmktg,

It's great to have some help. As I said, I personally don't care if you work for you UW and everything you are doing looks great including accurately representing yourself. It seems you are very familiar with Wikipedia.

My ideas on the direction of the page are my own and through the community contributions something entirely different may result, which would be fantastic. I don't mean to be overly possessive. It will be nice to actually have some help and someone with access to facts and figures and better images will really improve this page. It used to be quite bad.

I am interested what you think about the page and what else it needs. Also, I am curious what kind of pictures you are able to upload. Is UW willing to license some images in the public domain? I'm speaking mostly about historic and aerial images. These are some of my thoughts and I will begin to move these conversations to the discussion page.

Sincerely,

Careful[edit]

Please note that any individual Wikipedia account is meant to be used by only one individual. The statement on your userpage indicates that this account may be used by several individuals; could you clarify? DS (talk) 17:57, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:SteamboatVectorw stroke.svg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:SteamboatVectorw stroke.svg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:03, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
