Sockpuppetry[edit]

Hi there, VJ. Certain edits made on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Drudgen have the appearance of sockpuppetry - that is, users using different accounts to vote for than once. In this case, you and the IP address 81.132.186.155 have voted within a short timespan and you amended the comments of the IP address (who voted twice as "Tom" and "Phill").

It is important not to amend other people's comments on deletion debates, but even more important not to attempt to fake a consensus. You seem relatively new to Wikipedia, so you may not be aware of this policy, which you can read at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet

Of course, if this IP address isn't you, please don't take offence, and either way please don't let this stop you from continuing to contribute to Wikipedia. Thanks. —Whouk (talk) 17:18, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I apologise for it. I am indeed quite new and I assure you it won't happen again. VJ Emsi 17:58, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Substing your userboxes[edit]

It'll be my pleasure. After weeks trying to be a voice of reason in the userbox "debates", I realized it really is much more productive to just subst what you got, build from scratch anything else you want, and focus on the whole "encyclopedia" thing. I'm gonna hit the sack but I'll get to it first thing tomorrow morning (early afternoon Kent time). Cheers, JDoorjam Talk 04:45, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There you go -- your userboxes are now raw code on your page, and are safe from the userbox wars. JDoorjam Talk 14:50, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot Doorjam! VJ Emsi 17:48, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A watered-down version of the proposed policy against censorship is now open for voting. Will you kindly review the policy and make your opinions known? Thank you very much.Loom91 18:04, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. VJ Emsi 18:25, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think many who would take our side against the menace of censorship do not know about this poll. If you have some time to spare, would you mind posting a short message on their talk page (like mine) to let them know of this poll and invite them to voice their opinions? By involving more people, a larger portion of the Wikipedia community can have their say, for or against the policy. Some places you can go for a list of users are Wikipedia_talk:Censorship#Support, Category:Wikipedians_against_censorship and Category:Wikipedians_opposed_to_censorship_of_the_human_body as well as any friends you might have. Please check that I've not already posted a message with the heading Wikipedia_talk:Censorship in their talk page to avoid double-postings. If you don't have the time, feel free to ignore this request. Thank you.Loom91 09:24, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit + welcome[edit]

Thank you for your recent edit on the Mozilla Firefox article. However, I'd like to point out that Mozilla Firefox and Moezilla have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

Also, as nobody's properly welcomed you...

Welcome!

Hello, VJ Emsi, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Flamarande + Blacksad[edit]

Hi, I am Flamarande (obviously) and I am interrested in cooperating and improving the article about "Blacksad". I own three comicbooks of Blacksad (portuguese editions) and I have read the article and while I agree with vast majority of it, there are a few minor mistakes which I corrected: Hitler is really portrayed as a cat, look closely at his ears.

I know that following the dates of the publications first comes "Somewhere Within the Shadows", followed by "Artic Nation", followed by "Red Soul". But if you read the books carefully, the order is rather diffrent 1)"Artic Nation", where he meets Weekly for the first time. 2)"Somewhere Within the Shadows", where he befriends Smirnov and then 3)"Red Soul", Nathalie is allready dead, inspector Smirnov is his fast friend and Weekly is allready his side-kick. I propose that we present this order in the article on a later date, if there is no objection to it. Of course, I will also explain this order thouroughly for the average reader Flamarande 20:14, 27 April 2006 (UTC) PS: I would prefer that we talk in the Blacksad talkpage so that any user can read and learn about our improvements. Perhaps someone might improve it even further.[reply]

Thankyou Flamarande! I'd like to co-operate with you. I own the three Blacksad stories in French, album form. I'll talk with you on the Blacksad page. Sorry about the mistakes, please do correct them. VJ Emsi 16:53, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I read the volumes once again and you were right, and I was wrong (not the 1st time I was wrong, I fear). I jumped to conclusions, and the issue is not as clear as I thought. "Red Soul" is the 3rd volume, no doubts about it. "Artic Nation" might be the 1st volume, but probably is the 2nd one. The authors seem to use caracters as they are needed. As the caracter "Smirnov" would do no sense inside of "Artic Nation" (he isn´t ether "white" or "black") they cleverly put the story inside a diffrent town: "The Line". I was confused, and I belived that the non-use of Smirnov was due the fact that he hadn´t been invented yet. Well, I am sorry. Flamarande 12:37, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, we all make mistakes. :-) VJ Emsi 17:41, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:-SD- Clan Spray.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Image spacing[edit]

I saw you tried to fix the image spacing on the exposure article. There is a better way to do it, the {{-}} template, this will add a break after all images. See template:- for more info. To use it do this: {{subst:-}}, which will insert <br clear="all" /> into the page when saved. If you have any Q's about its use feel free to ask. Ravedave (help name my baby) 19:07, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh it wasn't poor formatting, there is just a better way to do it becuase alot of times formatting bots remove extraspaces. -Ravedave (help name my baby) 17:14, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your subpage deleted[edit]

I have deleted User:VJ Emsi/dwarling, as it is content copied from what the arbitration committee has recently established to be an attack site. Either way, Wikipedia is not a personal web host so it has no place here. Also see Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/MONGO#Links to ED. Thank you.--Konst.ableTalk 04:36, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned public domain images[edit]

The following images were uploaded by you, but are currently not in use. They have been tagged as public domain (PD), either as PD-self or other PD claim. These unused PD images may be subject to deletion as orphans. You may wish to add them to an article, tag them for copying to WP commons {{Copy to Wikimedia Commons}} or if they are no longer needed, they can be tagged for deletion by you as {{db-author}}. If you have any questions, please leave me a note on my talk page. --Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 02:12, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Azkaban 2.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Azkaban 2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 11:01, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:AcademLink.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AcademLink.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:43, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Alex and Denis - Goodbye Lenin.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Alex and Denis - Goodbye Lenin.JPG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --08:11, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
