Hi howcheng, I did some searching through microfiche at the Kennewick library and found a little information on the bridge's removal:

--Jan 2, 1990- Kennewick/Pasco city councils awarded contract for removal to Riedel International of Portland, OR (1/03/90 edition of Tri-City Herald) --Jan 29, 1990- first phase of removal begins when contractors remove guardrail (1/30/90 edition of Tri-City Herald) --March 16, 1990- all but south section of cantilever have been removed (3/17/90 edition of Tri-City Herald) --March 20, 1990- the last portion of superstructure is loaded on a barge and floated downriver before noon on that date. All that remained at that point were the concrete piers. (3/21/90 edition of Tri-City Herald).

The concrete piers were scheduled for removal by another contractor in 1991. I haven't dug into that portion of it yet. I have a couple of scans I can email you if you like, just email me at sixshift@msn.com

A little side note, after writing the previous message I asked around work if anyone remembered when the bridge was removed. The first person I asked said she and a few friends had a heated argument over this very subject at a bar just last week, and she was very interested to know exactly when it came down. I think a couple of bets might be riding on this! VMac822 (talk) 04:42, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
