Trick shot[edit]

Hey, I've just had a chance to look at your edits to the Trick shot article and have a few comments:

  1. The images you've uploaded and are using do not have source or licence information. They may infringe copyright and should either be removed from the page or have the source/licence information provided. The information you need to read about can be found here.
  2. If and when you have images that satisfy the image policies, they could be better placed than in a gallery at the top of the page. Think about distributing them throughout the article.
  3. The Manual of Style (found at WP:MOS) gives a lot of good advice on how an article should appear. For example, the section headings should not repeat the article title, so instead of "Objects used in Trick Shot", you should simply use "Objects used" (or perhaps something more explanatory!)
  4. Avoid using the ellipsis (...) during the prose. Remember - you're trying to write an encyclopaedic entry, you need to keep the prose neat and tidy, and importantly, neutral in tone.
  5. Consider using wikilinks, such as machine gun. This helps give the article context within the bigger scope of Wikipedia.

But overall I'm glad you've been bold. Do let me know if I can help you with anything more. The Rambling Man 10:22, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yo. I looked over it. I see that you're building on an established article. My recommendations to you are to look over WP:CITE. Also be sure that you're using correct spelling and grammar. Over all, however, your edits are good. Keep up the good work! LaraLove 04:50, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
thanks I appriciate it...were the heck have you been lately?!?! Vandalfighter101 04:51, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just FYI, I've responded at more length at my talk page (same subject heading), and I think on the article talk page, and in edit summaries at the actual article, which I further edited. The super-short version is: I think we need to well-document both trick shot competitions as shown on ESPN, and artistic pool, with the expectation that the latter will eventually be its own article (since it involves more than trick shots, but also extreme finesse in core cue sports techniques like draw and massé). — SMcCandlish [talk] [cont] ‹(-¿-)› 16:20, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

what I need to do[edit]

Hey guys! what would you advise doing to become ready to become a admin?Vandalfighter101 06:25, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I made a editor review for myself...if you get some time y dont you check it out.Vandalfighter101 07:08, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You didn't have your answers correctly placed or your name on the review. I fixed those issues. You have yet to write your statement, and you've not yet posted the review on the project page. Past that, in looking over your edit count, your have just over one dozen vandalism revert edits. The majority of your 300 edits have been to your user page, talk page, and the talk pages of others. You are no where near ready to be an admin. Focus on editing articles and improving the encyclopedia and focus less on titles and awards. LaraLove 04:19, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:4085354341.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:4085354341.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 01:37, 24 July 2007 (UTC) [reply]

User Page - Reward Board[edit]

Hi Vandalfighter,

Are you still wanting to have your UserPage redesigned? If so i would be willing to do it. All work would be done in a sandbox and would be approved by you before any edits are made to your user page.

If you are interested leave me a message at my talk page.

Regards, ThirtyNineHundred 20:55, 27 July 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Hey:[edit]

Just a heads up, I removed the adoptme template from your user talk archive, that way it wouldn't show up in the category. Just a heads up... still. --HAL2008talk 14:31, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How do I become a part of the VC?Vandalfighter101 08:26, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Asking works. Just like you just did.  :-)
By the way, what are you asking exactly? Are you looking for general coaches who can guide you to become a better Wikipedian? The Transhumanist    18:35, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have a reply on my talk page. The Transhumanist    00:05, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I somewhat of a new editor. I often focus editing on bands etc. but edit other items as well. How do can I make my userpage cool like yours.

So does that mean you are looking for a coach?  :-) I'm available. I do have a couple of conditions though, and they are that you...

  1. don't go for an RfA or accept an RfA nomination until I think you are ready (I like to nominate my students when the time is right).
  2. take the advice provided by your coaches, and your fellow students to heart (this will be a group effort). I work with a team of coaches, and we all share students. We also encourage our students to learn and work together and teach each other. By the way, LaraLove is on the team and is ready and waiting to be one of your coaches.

Please let me know if you agree to the above terms, and we can get started.

I look forward to your reply.

User page design[edit]

There's a link to the user page design center on my main menu at the top of my user page. There's lots of instructions and sample code in there.

But I'll let you in on a secret...

The way I built my user page was to copy someone else's. I cut and pasted their user page source text and changed all the links. And then, I changed it a little at a time, week by week, adding a bit here, a menu item there, until it eventually took on a look and feel of its own.

There's no rush. Patience is the key. When you run across a feature you like, study its source text, and add it to your own page.

There's a "Hall of Fame" at the user page design center with all the most interesting and eye-catching userpages I could find on Wikipedia. I'm sure you will be able to find something that fits your personality in there.

Good luck, and have fun!

WP:CVU status[edit]

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you!
